Catching the Realm Between

I am taking a bit of a strategic break to take a look back. I need it, want it and am going to take it. To date, I have shared on The Realm Between By LD Olsen on Wattpad, weekly. I have shared on The Opening, and Chapters 1 through 8 thus far:

• The Opening with Sharpen the Blades
• Chapter 1 with Mourning Fire
• The Real Deal on Zeal and Chapter 2
• Steadfast Vigilance and Chapter 3
• and Appreciation as Strength in Chapter 4

Then...

• On The Realm Between, we offered up Chapters 5 and 6... on Truthfulness and heroism.
• and then, we looked at Chapter 7 and Honor and Service in More Heroic Stories, Please.
• and last week, I wrote on Chapter 8 and The Unity Within. ... and focused on the practice of Unity, within.

I humbly but assertively suggest the book and blogs are both worthy or your time. The story is just getting underway and it is epic. And, we are exploring character right here, and along the way. I invite you to either catch up or re-read; as I am... before moving on next week to Chapter 9, 10 and 11 on the Remembrance Day Weekend of November 9, 10 and 11. Going forward, I am doing 2-3 Chapters at a time. We are moving up in gear.

So, What Are We Doing Here?

In the last couple of months, I consciously changed the focus of Sharpen the Blades, for at least the next few months, and running up to my own birthday February 20, 2020.

• Sharpen the Blades is a blog series about character and love in response to life and work. Each post is an exploration of an aspect of character and love and their impact on living and working more successfully, however we might define such. Sharpen the Blades is about preparing our character (and love) as strength; in the face of life and work. Period.
• As I noted again last week, "The focus has not changed but it has. We chose to explore The Realm Between by my dear friend and "soul sis" LD Olsen. It is an epic tale of spirit and character and more... and a story I have been personally awaiting to read for a decade. The book is out now on Wattpad, and I am pumped."

Just recently, I saw this request on Facebook...

• I am looking for a very specific kind of sci-fi or fantasy book to read on vacation next week. It needs to be optimistic and uplifting (not post-apocalyptic), have psychological/archetypal depth, be socio-politically astute, and be spiritually and/or metaphysically wise. The storytelling needs to be over-the-moon engaging and thrilling, and a good dose of humor would be a great plus. By way of example, I love books like Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Stranger in a Strange Land, Island (Aldous Huxley), Dr. Strange, Michael Scott’s Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel series, and The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. And yes, I adore the best of Star Wars and Star Trek. If you know of a needle in this haystack, I welcome your recommendation!

I suggested to the post-er that The Realm Between checks all the boxes; and it does.
