A catch-up

A catch-up

A change of tack this week. I thought it might be nice to catch up.

It's been a bit of a whirlwind summer for me here as I get the consultancy up and running - with no time for a breather before we head into the last part of the year.?

Firstly a huge thank you to my early customers?

River Clyde Homes , Aereco Limited , RetroKit , Ambisense , Mia Air UK and Ireland , Build Test Solutions , Co-operative Housing Ireland , MPC Energy Ltd , Longford County Council , 21 Degrees , Ecological Building Systems , and Your Housing Group

I can't tell you how much it means; even with my experience, it's a crazy leap of faith and your support has made all the difference.

The interest in my half-day workshop on Air Quality and Ventilation in Housing has been brilliant and the initial run for August and September filled out really fast, so thank you.

The feedback has been great and shows there is a real desire to learn and drive better outcomes out there.

Although my diary is now full through to mid-October, I will open booking again for October and November next week, so keep an eye out for that.

I hope you are all doing OK. All 10,000 plus of you!

It's a small milestone, but one I wanted to mark. This August, I passed 10k followers on LinkedIn .

I care about this because it is a community, the dialogue I have on LinkedIn is overwhelmingly, in fact, close to exclusively positive and constructive.

I work hard to produce meaningful content, and that content reaches over 100,000 people a month.

And in a world where air quality and good ideas around ventilation need as much exposure as possible, that can only be a good thing, right?

So, thanks for your support; keep sharing and engaging; I really enjoy the conversations it generates.

Conference Season

As with this time of year, I tend to hit the road a bit.

First Up

The First WHO/Europe Indoor Air Conference - BERN, SWITZERLAND - 20 SEPTEMBER?

Making a Step Change in Indoor Environments for Human Health

In collaboration with the World Health Organization and the Geneva Health Forum

The focus of the meeting is to consider what is needed at a strategic level to make effective changes to improve indoor environments in buildings. It will explore the practical challenges and opportunities for understanding and mitigating poor ventilation in the most cost-effective ways.

I was fortunate to be invited and am looking forward to getting involved in the discussion, my good friends and colleagues Cath Noakes , Pawel Wargocki , Corinne Mandin and Jelle Laverge will be speaking and always make an excellent contribution to the discussion.

Check out the Website, and register for online access.

Next Up

43rd AIVC -11th TightVent & 9th Venticool Conference - Aalborg University, Copenhagen, Denmark - 4th-5th October

Ventilation, IEQ and health in sustainable buildings

Another packed few days with Keynotes from Dr Ga?lle GUYOT , Kirsten Gram-Hanssen , Trond Thorgeir Harsem , Benjamin Jones and @Ying Xu it promises to be another excellent event.

Too much to note here, but of particular interest to me are topical sessions.

  • The Role of Building Ventilation on Building Decarbonization
  • Post Pandemic Pontifications
  • The role of carbon dioxide and particulate matter for assessing ventilation and respiratory disease transmission in buildings

Check out the website here. https://aivc2023conference.org/

I will also be attending Annex 86 meetings (Energy Efficient Indoor Air Quality Management in Residential Buildings) on the 2nd and 3rd, an International Energy Agency (IEA) annexe led by Jelle Laverge producing some really amazing outputs at the moment, watch this space.

Including some phenomenal work by Benjamin Jones and Max Sherman on IAQ and a harm index that could prove to be transformative. Keep an eye out for Building Services Engineering this month I have a short article on the subject.

And Finally

ROUTES TO CLEAN AIR 2023 - Institute of Air Quality Management - OCTOBER 10th -11th - Manchester, England

The Institute of Air Quality Management (IAQM) presents Routes to Clean Air 2023, its annual conference on topics relevant to air quality practitioners and associated professionals.
