How It Works
It's simple: return your old Sealand bag to us, and in exchange, receive a 25% discount code for a new product. Your returned bag will be lovingly reconditioned and prepared for its next chapter. It will find a new home, a new purpose, and a new set of stories to tell.
Why Participate?
One of the best ways to reduce our combined environmental impact is to reduce our reliance on virgin materials and new products. By collecting, repairing & making available old bags that are not currently in use (or loved as they once were) we are able to provide an alternative option for those looking to buy a new product and keep these older bags in the USE cycle for as long as possible - by extending this “USE” part of the cycle. This enables us to move beyond the extract - consume - discard model and towards a system that values repair, reuse, recycling and revaluing of existing products. We also believe that although the discount offered could be seen as encouraging new consumption, it is shaped towards products that are more responsible than those otherwise available on the market. Every new Sealand bag sold has a greatly reduced carbon and water footprint when compared to benchmark products and if we can convert consumers to our brand - and more responsible products - we’re doing pretty well.
Even our collection box has been optimised for reduced impact! It is made from Xanita board, a cardboard that incorporates recycled material, FSC-certified raw materials, is VOC and EFC free and completely repulpable in traditional paper recycling mills.
