Now that you’ve seen it, on a scale of one to ten (ten being MOST), how committed are you to having the influence you want to impact the greatest amount of people?
I’m guessing you’re pumped because now you understand what you need to do, where to influence and how to do it.
And once again, like last week, as soon as you get SO EXCITED, knowing that YOU GOT THIS… the seeds of doubt start growing from vine to bush to giant tree of doubt and overwhelm that you can’t see past.
As someone who respects nature far too much to chop down your tree, I’m going to suggest you walk around it. Yup, look at it, thank it for its presence, maybe even rustle its leaves in acknowledgement, then step aside and walk around it never looking back because you’ve got lives to change.
I’ve said this before but it’s worth repeating. You make time for the things that matter. Last night I went into detail on 4 ways and 4 places to influence. I use all of them and more… and before you say, “But Jessica, I have…” Let me tell you what I have: A full time job that is a minimum 50-80 hour week and requires travel anywhere from 1-3 weekends+ a month, THREE (not one THREE) additional businesses (Rachel Hollis is giving me the stink eye right now, but I promise you Rachel, I built one at a time, so it’s all good), a commitment to seeing my parents, my sister, and my nephew at least 4 times a week and talking with them every day, a commitment to exercising every day, two days a week of weights (minimum), cardio every day (even if it means walking up and down my stairs for 30 minutes, while Alexa plays an audiobook), I have to food shop, cook for myself, shower, wash my face twice a day, brush my teeth… yes I’m getting nitty gritty, because the small things take time too. And I haven’t even factored in the fun stuff… like going to Utah to stay in a Yurt last month.
My point- I’m not special!!! I make the time because it matters. I woke up at 6am to write this. I go to bed early which means my I no longer DVR TV… I love entertainment and want to watch "all the shows" and I will, when my higher priorities are done.
If I can do it, YOU can do it… IF you want it.
Do you?
Then let’s prioritize.
And Action!
Make a list (kinda like mine above) of everything you do. Include the “have-tos” (like a job and mom/dad/auntie duties) and the “want tos” (like traveling to a Yurt). Now add the Influencer actions you CHOOSE to take.
Grab your calendar and start scheduling. When you want to find the time, you do. Game of Thrones is over, there are no more excuses.
My friend, you got this! The world needs your voice. Go out and influence!
Okay, maybe focusing on a bank robber wasn’t the best movie example I could have used, but if you overlook his “robbing” and focus on the lengths and detail Frank Jr. went to, he was pretty amazing and quite the influencer.
Disclaimer: I am NOT suggesting in fact I’m saying DO NOT ROB BANKS ;-)
