The Catalyst: To Be or Not To Be?
As you, I and literally everyone else around the world is hitting the restart button, this seems to be the right time for a great realization: If we do things the same we always did we will end up with the same results we always got. It is about time we ask ourselves an existential question: Do we have what it takes TO BE those generations that collaborated and build a healthier, happier and more meaningful world?
As Shakespeare put it “To be or not to be? that is the question”.
Should we decide that we are the catalysts for positive change, we will need a paradigm shift in the we live and the way we work. Imagine a world where we have learned the lessons from these compound health-socio-economic crises, and where now we do this: Dedicate our time for our loved ones, only breath fresh air, eat healthy food, and work with each other based on values of trust, transparency, courage and productivity.
At work, we have decided to start conversations with all our partners about what seeds can we plant now for a better way for our community to work together. Then, we made small steps in a road of a thousand miles towards a Future of Work Ecosystem in the Sultanate of Oman. This open project invites you to post about any enterprise that is investing its valuable time and efforts in filling a gap in improving the way we work. This includes creative, blended online-face-to-face platforms in modern communications, remote collaboration, gig economy, in addition to the three most significant long term community investments- EduTech, HealthTech, and sustainable advanced manufacturing. So far, there are more than thirty Catalysts who are taking the risk to facilitate for transitioning towards a new way of work and life. They are distributed over the aforementioned sectors and business models. Is it enough to watch them struggle from the sidelines?
This is why the role of entrepreneurs and their startups in the society has been to step in and co-create innovative products and services that help us lead a healthier, happier and more meaningful life. One initiative to unlock this potential of entrepreneurs is the Catalyst Program which aspires to leverage a synergy between leading global and national corporates, such as HSBC Oman and Sharakah, and local ecosystem building startups such as *Impact.
It takes a whole village to raise a Future of Work Ecosystem. So, being proactive and starting with a you asking that simple question: How can I help? Will definitely helps us as a community be all that we can be, slowly, steadily and surely.
