The difficult people in our life are often our catalyst for change. Once we accept that life is here to challenge us, we can let go of our resistance, judgment and attachment to outcome. When adversity shows up, including the difficult people in our lives, we can recognize them as a catalyst for our growth and change. No one can act beyond their current level of consciousness. And when we expect others to be more aware or conscious than they are, it is a recipe for disappointment, pain and suffering.?
We all experience conflict in our relationships with family, friends and colleagues from time to time. Life is not here to make us happy; it is here to help us awaken to the reality of the present moment. It can be helpful for us to realize our ego cannot exist in the present moment. We are not our thoughts; we are the awareness or consciousness that has been trapped for a very long time behind our thoughts. Our thinking can work for us in positive and creative ways when the wisdom of consciousness exists.?
History has shown us that intellectual intelligence without emotional intelligence has been quite destructive. No one awakens within their comfort zone. When difficulties arise we need to have developed the emotional intelligence to be able to lower our ego based walls so that we are able to respond to life’s challenges with? love and acceptance rather than anger and fear. This is the quickest path to career, personal and business success.?
“We are BORN with our intellectual intelligence capabilities, but we DEVELOP our emotional intelligence. EQ is what defines true leaders. As AI and other technologies diminish the importance of knowing “facts” and performing “processes”, what will separate us from the machines is EQ. Leaders increase their EQ through experiential learning and reinforcement of EQ-building habits.”
