Cat-saving team
I like to watch movies about robberies or rescue missions. When 5-7 completely different people get together, all pros in their field. Each of them is a weirdo with his oddness, but good in what he does.
Such a team cannot survive long, they will fulfill their mission and go back to normal life. At this time, everyone is working to the limit. In normal life, they may hate each other, but during the mission, they save each other's lives, sometimes sacrificing their own.
Would you like to be a member of such a team? Feel the support of a colleague and the joy of a successfully completed mission. For programmers, it sounds like a dream. But there is one option. Or even a few.
The first one is participation in hackathons. Currently, they are not organized often, but if you have a possibility - I hardly recommend trying. There you will have a little time to find a team and come up with a task. It will be especially useful at the start of your career.
Another way is maybe even more interesting. Although, it is more difficult to implement.
There is a type of task when you need to show the result very quickly. The most interesting thing is that in such situations the money recedes into the background and the customer is willing to pay a lot. You can earn half of your monthly salary in two or three days.
I had a couple of such projects in my practice. They lasted several days, at a maximum of 4. I was looking for a team among my colleagues. We worked together in the office on the weekends, ordered food, wrote megabytes of code, and came up with incredible solutions. I still remember these moments with pleasure.
What are these tasks and where you can find them?
Sometimes this is a mission in the sales process when you need to quickly show a working demo to sign a contract. Sometimes it's a hot task when production is falling.
To gain access to such tasks, you need to earn the authority of a reliable specialist. You can be difficult, strange, but reliable. This means going beyond your formal responsibilities, being autonomous, professional, ready for difficulties, and able to survive crises without panic. Such people are described as: "you can share a foxhole with him."
