USPS recommends new prices for Parcel Select



USPS has notified the Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) of Parcel Select price changes to take effect Sunday, July 14. Parcel Select allows high-volume shippers to enter packages for regional delivery through the USPS network.

No increases are planned for USPS Ground Advantage, Priority Mail and Priority Mail Express.

The proposed adjustments were approved by the USPS governors this week. The PRC will review the changes before they are scheduled to take effect.

USPS reports second-quarter financial results



What: Operating revenue was $19.7 billion as per Q2 FY24 financial results


Why it matters: “Our financial results this quarter demonstrated positive trends regarding improved revenue generation and cost control. This reflected progress in the implementation of our 10-year transformation and modernization plan,” said Postmaster General Louis DeJoy.

“We also saw gains in package deliveries through our successful USPS Ground Advantage offering, which was enabled by our new operating model. As we continue to modernize our processing, transportation and delivery functions, we will increasingly operate with greater efficiency and capability, and at a consistently higher level of performance.”



USPS announces upcoming release of Carnival Nights stamps



What: USPS Carnival Nights Forever stamps


Why it matters: Whether young or young at heart, everyone loves spending a summer evening at a carnival. The stomach-twisting thrill rides, the indulgent snacks and sweets, and the general spirit of light-hearted fun make America’s carnivals and fairs a place for visitors of any age to enjoy.

Ten unique stamps in a pane of 20 feature images that convey the energy and color of a summer carnival at night. A panoply of rides is shown in vibrant neon hues against the black, night sky. Fireworks burst from behind a panorama of lights, and a row of glittering amusement booths invite passers-by to try their luck.

Experience the thrills of Carnival Nights with this colorful pane of stamps.



Applying for a passport just got easier

Why it matters: Convenience and great service are hallmarks of the Postal Service’s national retail network. With 95 percent of the population living within 5 miles of a Post Office, USPS is uniquely positioned to understand the needs of communities across the country.

One prominent example is the Postal Service's popular passport application process, which has helped millions of Americans obtain their first passport. And this year, USPS is making it even easier with the introduction of walk-in hours at thousands of Post Offices locations across the nation.





Before you go... the U.S. Postal Service and the Postal Inspection Service continue to bolster their Project Safe Delivery efforts, the nationwide campaign to combat postal crime and protect postal employees.
