In case you missed it - #UKNOF41 - deploying a v6 network mainly to support at Atlas Probe.

Firstly, thanks to everyone who were very complimentary about my UKNOF talk on making your own life difficult - and yes, the title of the talk was a little misleading on purpose.

Ultimately, the talk was about a number of things:

  • Giving a customer added value and being ahead of the technology curve in some respects - despite the technology being new and all the obstacles in doing that.
  • Trying to do things technically right on a budget and doing the right thing by our customer and the community in general
  • What you can learn and apply to your own environment from UKNOF content
  • That everyone at some point was a first time attendee at an event, be that UKNOF or otherwise.
  • That being on the autistic spectrum isn't something that should be hidden away.

Being on that stage is ultimately terrifying and rewarding, but if I can do it, anyone can and we actively encourage first time speakers. See the CFP for UKNOF42 here: https://uknof.uk/cfp42

I should also add a note of thanks here, to Andy Hunter and Steve Tron for being the technical directors who were supportive in getting this deployed in the first place and to Kris Hibbert who did the #ipv6 server side engineering (albeit after constant nagging from me).

Anyhoo, it's here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56w128psegU
