In Case You Missed It...

Is anybody else here floored that it's already March??

February was another whirlwind month for the 3DCS team, chock full of accolades?and our first trade show in what feels like forever. Between all of that, we've embarked on some exciting projects that we're excited to share more about later this month, all while adding some new faces to our growing team.?

In the meantime, check out some of the highlights from the last few weeks:

1. What 3D Viz Can (And Can't) Do For Revitalizing Churches

Building a building inside another building is near impossible without 3D viz. Just take at this?former church turned into a condo.?

  • A quick recap that 3D visualization takes many shapes and forms and can include techniques like 3D photogrammetry, laser scanning, and Building Information Modelling (BIM). Architects?employ one or more of these techniques when revitalizing existing buildings
  • They're great for managing complex loads of data and communicating ideas to other groups
  • ... but they do have their limitations when it comes to convincing critics of gentrification?

We chatted with principal architects Ellen?Anselone and Tony Hsiao from?Finegold Alexander as well as?Mikael Sydor, an architect and senior project manager ERA Architects Inc., to see how they use such tools.?

2. We're Big In Japan!

One major highlight in February was winning one of 15 coveted spots in?JETRO's?Japan Challenge for Society 5.0 contest.

  • 3DCS was one of 292 applications participating in the Japan External Trade Organization's (JETRO) innovation accelerator competition. The seven-month contest saw 3DCS:??Advance to the short-list round of 45 companies?
  • Beat out five other Canadian companies to make it to the finals?
  • Win a trip to Japan and intense virtual mentoring sessions??

We also picked up some external press which you can?check out over here. You can also watch our winning pitch below:

3.?Bye Bye IBS 2022 (International Builders' Show)

Orlando, it's been a slice.?3DCS and NTRY brought their take on the future of?virtual pre-construction sales at the Orange County Convention Centre for the?2022 NAHB IBS.

Over three days, our teams spoke to hundreds of vendors and came back with:

  • Over 200 leads?
  • New branded merch and swag?
  • A renewed appreciation for each other?

Be sure to check out the highlight reel below from our time there:
