In case you ask!

In case you ask!

Why write this?

I don't write too much on here but recently an old friend got in touch via LinkedIn and asked what I was doing in my career, she had't read my profile, so I decided to put something on here to explain for new and old contacts that want to understand the 'what and how'.

About Me (sorry!)

My experience is pretty varied, founder/entrepreneur, fund manager investing in technology start-ups, mentor on technology accelerator programmes, principle of a Business Angel network, serving on boards for a Private Equity firm and now Managing Partner of a finance consulting business. I have raised money for my own ventures, helped others do the same, invested in many and helped institutions realise value from theirs.

Numitas - how did I get here?

Numitas is a business that was founded from my understanding and experience of the importance of the CFO. Quite honestly they are the most underestimated, high value people asset in a business. I realised from my own start up business that I needed one before I could afford one, so made it a priority and never looked back. As a Fund Manager I knew the same would be true of other start-ups too, so I funded a part time CFO for them along with the growth capital they needed because without them, most times, the financial forecasts were not put together well enough for me to support in the first place and I knew from my own experience that the growth challenges they would face post funding would be met by them far better with an experienced and commercial CFO on their team.

When working in the Private Equity industry I once again found that the CFO was crucial to the growth and value aspirations of the stakeholders so always made sure I had the best and most relevant CFO possible. I created Numitas as it is today to help entrepreneurs get access to the some of the smartest people around without having to pay the salary they usually command as well as for the CFOs in mid tier firms to have a like minded, safe and extra pair of hands to support them on projects etc.

Finally

Warren Buffet said "accountancy is the language of business", we not only speak the language fluently, we translate well too!
