To become?the most sustainable equestrian center in the Netherlands, the client?required a comprehensive energy solution that could effectively utilize the solar?energy generated on-site while overcoming the challenges posed by the local grid constraints.

The equestrian center?faced several hurdles in its quest for sustainability. The center installed 604 solar panels to harness solar energy, but?the local?limited grid capacity prevented the facility from feeding a significant amount of this energy back into the grid. To maximize the use of the generated solar power and avoid the costs associated with grid upgrades, a robust energy storage solution was essential.

POWEROAD, with its extensive experience in energy storage solutions, provided a customized solution to meet the needs of the equestrian center. This project?installed a 215?kWh POWEROAD FLEX 215 ESS?that effectively stores excess solar energy generated during the day. This stored energy is then used to power the equestrian center and provide electricity to the adjacent golf?park, especially for its nighttime irrigation system.?

Additionally, the equestrian center left some space in the fence surrounding the ESS installation for future expansion. Thanks to the standardized design of POWEROAD ESS, scaling up the system will be seamless, reducing investment costs and providing flexibility for increased capacity in the future.

POWEROAD’s self-developed EMS?further optimizes energy use by preventing unnecessary feed-in to the congested local grid, ensuring that the maximum amount of solar energy is used on-site. This innovative approach allowed the equestrian center?to operate efficiently without requiring a larger grid connection, thus aligning perfectly with its sustainability goals.
