Case Study: The Lazy Gourmet
The Lazy Gourmet has been delivering inspired catering and events in Vancouver, BC since 1979. Now celebrating their 40th year in business, they hired us to update their brand and reposition their business as a high end catering service offering elegant, quality fare and seamless event planning. In our discovery process, we learned of many new competitors who have entered their market, and of alternative niches targeting their same clientele. We noticed many similarities in Vancouver catering brand identities, with few differentiating factors, so saw an opportunity to work with the Lazy Gourmet on creating a brand unlike any other.
We worked with the team on a soft rebrand, maintaining the reputable logo but pairing it with an updated defined brand style guide, with a focus on typography and modern colour palette. The focus of our work was launching a brand new custom website equally highlighting their catering and event planning services. In a 3 month process, we guided them through website strategy, content planning, copywriting, photography selection and a completely custom website design and development process. The final result is a beautiful editorial-inspired website with individual landing pages for their catering, event and corporate departments; a well-organized menu structure for clients to easily browse their many food and beverage offerings; and featured event case studies and venues to highlight their previous work and partners.
