Coca-Cola Europacific Partners: A Case Study
We are thrilled to announce the release of our case study showcasing our partnership with Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP).
CCEP, a leading global beverage company, has set ambitious water sustainability goals, including returning 100% of the water used in its products to ecosystems and communities, and regenerating 100% of the water used in key locations by 2030. To achieve these objectives, CCEP partnered with Waterplan to centralize and standardize data from over 50 water stewardship projects across various locations.
By leveraging Waterplan's AI-driven platform, CCEP efficiently manages project data, tracks progress against targets, and fosters collaboration among internal teams and external stakeholders.
Francesca O'Hanlon, PhD , Senior Manager of Water at CCEP, remarked, "In the last year with Waterplan, we have made much faster progress than we would have with a business-as-usual approach. Their platform, data, and team are excellent."

Are you assessing water risk with the right data?
Local data is crucial for accurate water risk assessment. It's not just about broad regional information, but about granular details specific to your site. As Meagan Knowlton, Senior Water Advisor at Waterplan, explains, it's about collecting information that fits your purpose. This can mean focusing on the local water supply, not just basin-wide data, or studying your site’s elevation to accurately assess flood risks.
Embrace local data to make informed decisions and strategic plans. For more information, check out our webinar on measuring local data.

UK’s Firefighting Robot
The UK has unveiled a cutting-edge firefighting robot designed to withstand extreme heat and spray water in high-risk environments, enhancing safety for emergency responders. Equipped with advanced sensors and remote operation capabilities, the robot can navigate hazardous areas that may be too dangerous for human firefighters, such as burning buildings and industrial sites. This innovation represents a major leap in fire safety technology, reducing risks for first responders while improving firefighting efficiency in critical situations.
Rivers in Argentina and Peru Turn Red: Environmental Alarms Raised
On February 6, Lima’s Rimac River and Argentina’s Sarandí canal mysteriously turned blood red, likely due to industrial and mining pollution and dumping of textile dye, respectively. The Rimac River is a key drinking water source source, and while officials insist the water remains safe, environmental groups are calling for urgent action to identify and eliminate contaminants. Locals to the Sarandí canal woke up to strong odors and “a canal of blood”. Investigations in both countries are underway to assess potential heavy metal and chemical waste involvement in the discoloration.
Scottish Water's Climate Strategy
Scottish Water plans to invest up to £50 billion in climate resilience efforts over the coming years, aiming to protect communities from increasing flood risks and ensure sustainable water management. The strategy includes creating urban parks designed to absorb excess rainwater, upgrading aging infrastructure, and promoting water conservation initiatives. With climate change intensifying extreme weather events, these measures are crucial for safeguarding water resources and maintaining reliable service for future generations.
