Case Study: Carrick-on-Suir Relining Project
Glancy Enviro
Glancy Enviro: Ireland's Best-rated Drainage & Environmental Services Company.
Glancy Enviro undertook a challenging re-lining project in Carrick-on-Suir, County Tipperary, involving the rehabilitation of pipelines ranging from 150mm to 450mm in diameter. The project faced significant challenges due to high levels of traffic and substantial flows in the lines, necessitating night work and full road closures.
Project Stages
1. Planning and Preparation The team meticulously planned night operations to minimise disruption to traffic and accommodate the required full road closures.
2. Flow Management To combat high flows exacerbated by bad weather, the team implemented over-pumping solutions to manage water levels during the relining process.
3. CIP Relining Using advanced no-dig technology, the team performed CIP relining on pipes ranging from 150mm to 450mm in diameter, creating a new structural pipe within the existing damaged ones.
4. Robotic Cutting Robotic cutting technology was employed to reinstate lateral connections and remove any obstructions in the newly lined pipes.
