A CASE FOR OPTIMISM IN 2021

A CASE FOR OPTIMISM IN 2021

2020, with its civil unrest, hyperpartisan elections and global pandemic, to name just a few events, was an unprecedented year for many. But out of challenging and uncertain times, opportunity often arises, and 2021 can offer a new chance to thrive for those companies and individuals who are positioned correctly.

As we move into the first full week of the new year, we are already seeing signs of what may very well be a more positive 2021. With the end of the elections in the U.S. and the arrival of a new administration, it seems that there is a tamping down of the partisanship as the country pulls together to find a positive way forward. The markets ended 2020 at record highs, and the arrival of the COVID vaccine could signal the end of the pandemic this year.[1]

Yes, 2020 was a year full of uncertainties, but, in many ways, it also displayed the power of the human spirit. Healthcare workers and first responders worked tirelessly to save lives. The U.S. presidential election had the highest voter turnout in recent memory.[2] Communities came together and sang from the rooftops.

Uncertain times have come and gone in the past, and, for those who are prepared and proactive, the new year offers opportunity to, not only do well professionally, but to do good socially and in your community. As entrepreneurs and business leaders, it is we who will lead the way forward into a brighter 2021.

What are your thoughts as this year begins? Where are you finding opportunity? Let me know in the comments below.
