"It's not surprising that big money beat little money, but I am still disappointed."
"At least I was able to get the true historical facts of the Post-it sticky notes origin, and my role in it, carefully layed out for the media, and into the Courts records for posterity."
"And it's about how the facts not disclosed earlier and distorted to the public and to me by 3M Company in our 1997 Post it sticky notes settlement agreement, that lead me to settle with them, when I would not otherwise had done so. Hence why the circumstances of this outcome are particularly disappointing."
Alan Amron the inventor of the Press-on memo today known as the Post-it sticky note by 3M
AN INVENTION IS THE NEW NOVEL AND UNIQUE USE OF SOMETHING.
PRESS ON MEMO STICKY NOTE INVENTION IS TO TEMPORARILY LEAVE A HAND WRITTEN NOTE
PRESS N' PEEL BOOKMARK INVENTION IS TO HOLD A PAGE FOR REFERENCE

In 1974 Alan Amron put his sticky backed post a note called Press-on memo into commerce and gave samples to 3M executives at a trade show in 1974.
In 1974 Arthur Fry and 3M claimed to have invented the Press n' peel secure bookmark while in a church choir. (Press n' peel bookmark invention)
In 1977 (after concealing it from the public for three years, which is against patent office rules) 3M introduced the secure bookmark as Press n' peel.
In 1980 3M renamed the secure bookmark as a sticky backed note product called Post-it note. NEW NAME FOR A NEW PRODUCT
AMRON INVENTED THE PRESS ON MEMO STICKY NOTE IN 1973

IT’S APPLES AND ORANGES and the inventions names tell you what it is.
AMRONS’ POST IT NOTE v. 3M/FRYS’ BOOKMARK
In an exhaustive two year investigation into the background and history of the 3M Post it sticky note utility invention, this information is reported to set the world straight on who actually invented that world known stationery icon called Post it note by 3M.
The idea for the Press n' peel not the Post-it note "... was conceived in 1974 by Arthur Fry as a way of holding bookmarks in his hymnal while singing in the church choir. He was aware of an adhesive accidentally developed in 1968 by fellow 3M employee Spencer Silver.” 3M/FRY/GOOGLE/Wikipedia
What does 3M and Art Fry inventing the Press n' peel secure bookmark in a church choir have to do with the post it note invention by Alan Amron?
Nothing!
It’s a just distraction from who really invented the Post it note, Alan Amron.
FACT:
In 1974 Arthur Fry, sitting in church, invented a bookmark piece of secure scrap paper. He was working at 3M and offered it to them to reproduce. 3M found no commercial use for his bookmark invention until four years later in 1980 when it was then changed to a press on memo used for leaving sticky notes on refrigerators.
FACT:
In 1973 Alan Amron invented Press on memo, a piece of sticky reusable piece of note paper used for leaving temporary hand written notes on refrigerators. Amron offered it for sale in commerce, and gave samples to every major stationery manufacturer in the US, including 3M who then told Amron they pass on its post a note use. 3M then in 1998 signed a settlement agreement and gave Amron a small check.
FACT:
Art Fry never invented the Post it sticky note as the world knows it today. (A sticky note that you temporarily post onto any surface). ART FRY invented a Press n' peel secure bookmark.
FACT:
The First Post a note inventor is Alan Amron, in 1973 he specifically and intentionally invented and put into commerce the Press on memo sticky note that you post onto any surface.
Inventor Arthur Fry for 3M in 1974 invented a Press n' peel piece of book marker scrap paper, intentionally and specifically used as a bookmark. 3M took that bookmark invention from 1974 and in 1980 introduced a new product called Post it note - message sticky note, 7 years after Alan Amron had already conceived of (invented) and put into use and practice (offered publicly in commerce for sale) the Press on memo sticky note today known to the world as the Post it note by 3M.
THE FACTS ARE EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING ELSE IS JUST A DISTRACTION!
Alan Amron is in fact the original and only inventor of the utility invention known to the world today as the Post it sticky note by 3M.
Art Fry is known to the world as the inventor of the Press n' peel secure bookmark.
This should end anyone’s doubt as to who invented the well known Post it sticky note.
Bookmark vs Post it note is no longer a question.
Fry’s use is clearly the intent for securely holding a place in a book.
Amron’s use is clearly the intent of the Post it note invention, to temporarily post a message with a sticky note.
THE CLAIMS:
3M and Fry claim the Press n' peel secure bookmark was invented in 1974 while in a church choir as a way to securely hold a page in a prayer book.
Amron claim the sticky Press on memo Post a note was invented in 1973 when he couldn’t find scotch tape to post a note for his wife.
Two very different inventions, by two different inventors, in two different years, for two different results.
Necessity is the mother of invention.
Fry’s necessity was to securely mark a page in a book.
Amron's necessity was to securely post a note.
The Post it sticky note use is Amron's invention to post a note.
Therefore 3M/Fry’s bookmark invention has little to do with the world known Amron Post it sticky note.
