Carve your Own Journey #Episode 8
Dear Kabir,?
Bombay, when I first came here along with my huge, archaic suitcase I bought along some tiny yet fresh desires. One of them was to give my writing’s a chance to be glanced. I wanted to be a writer maybe not professional. Writing sprang within me a new life, something which you are willing to battle for. A few weeks ago, my professor enquired whether I could write a few articles for the Faculty’s monthly magazine and I happily accepted the proposal. Today, I have been appointed as the assistant editor of the magazine!
Can you fathom, the lil Vaidehi, trying to camouflage in the gross city as a successful writer. Well this is just the beginning, a lot is yet to come. Tomorrow I am posting my first article; i thought you deserve to be the first one to read it as you are the pillar behind me.?
So, here the article begins....
Bombay, the so called city of Dreams but did it really quench my thirst?
?So when I first darted my way through the busy, city lanes, i was kinda threatened by the paleness of seven islands. There was commotion on the streets all day long and the automobile beeps, didn’t the citizen ever realize that noise pollution was a health hazard. A single wrong turn and you find yourself at the unhygienic slums or in the midst of the soiled drainage, the threatening shadows hidden behind the crystal glory. Rats, cats, dogs as well as rambling robbers and all sorts of creatures prowling on the roads. During night hours, i could hardly go for a walk by my own courage. Monsoon, the worst part, dirty puddles, pot holes engraved all around and the traffic is just terrible. Perhaps, a life in a small enclosed city, with no commotion, no liveliness and a lack of opportunities with a huge amount of hedges would be better.
Yes, so, Mumbaikars if you agree with me, please don’t. Widen your iris. Feel the energy that makes your life worth. Life is changing every minute; ever second embrace it with open arms. The city which once was just seven abandoned islands is among the busiest hubs on the globe. The central railway is the longest railway channel across India. The never ending blue waves at the queen’s necklace are a piercing attribute, a speciality of the city. I could dig up this maybe because in the sands where life changes every second, the oceans remain the same- calm, soothing and admirable. They refuse to lose their survived glory only for material gains and maybe that’s what defines them.?
So my newly made friends, stop wandering in the quest of seven wonders around the earth. Your city itself has all seven of them; you just need the vision to see the beauty beyond imperfection. The dreamy ocean bay, the heavy pours from heaven which cool the atmosphere around and energies them. the night life of Mumbai with walks around chow patty, that spicy pani puri which brings tears in our eyes and warm ecstasy to your heart, expensive roads on the Colaba pathway with striking architecture transfer you into an another age of history, the massive structure of lavish hotels at marine drive and it’s short of space yet giant at heart and that resembles the loyalty and love towards the wondrous city.
So I hope you liked it,?
Vaidehi,
*****************************************************
Dear Vaidu,?
I am glad your life is flowing though quite well, Mumbai seems to be a really intriguing and merry place, a kind of place where you actually merge into. Although I am content with my life, it seems boring and dull; the same schedule every day accompanied with absence of fascinating places to visit. When i see the photographs of my colleagues, they are so different. Rajkot is not the perfect place to expand ones career in photography. The scenes don’t excite a tourist from within. The same dull architecture crafted through all its monuments, this wasn’t what I desired for.?
Mansi has started her own group tutorials in science. She is requesting me to collaborate with her, but that isn’t what I want. Teaching in the same enclosed four walls for a lifetime, is not my coffee. Nor does Rajkot have many colleges, and none of them are like colleges. The big campus, noisy canteen and striving pupils are exactly what I long for. The colleges are dull and gloomy and crowded with pupils who crave only for marks, a degree and a satisfying job.
So, let’s see where my life lands me towards, I hope it has something special in store.?
Hope to see you soon and your article was beyond words. Keep writing. You possess power in your pen.
Kabir,
Vaidehi jogged her way towards the terrace where she found Akash standing, staring at some far off distance. The deep cutting wind raced through the structure as the afternoon sun stood brightly amongst the sky, throwing bright shafts of light from heaven. A deep silence but a comforting one enveloped them; she broke it up by throwing away a few kind words.
“Hey, I am Vaidehi. Do you remember me?” She gave away an adorable grin.
“Yes, sorry for being so rude that day,” He remarked.
“Actually, I think I need to apologise for something,” She squeezed out a diary from her hand bag
“You had my secret diary and how dare you. I was seeking for it since the last three months” His face scarlet as pumpkin as rage caught hold of his veins, he was fumbling through its pages.
“Well, you were rude to me and I stole your diary, so it’s slashed out, let’s forgive each other. Please,” She tried to explain with a grin.
?He slowly exhaled
“Wow, so you creep into my personal life like a bloody monster and now you except it all to go normal, rosy.” He shrieked, the words hit him as if someone had punched his intestine and knocked everything out of it.
“I am sorry, but I faced the same problem a few weeks ago, I? really think you should not give up on your dreams, your parents would be happier if you find your own path and live the life you long for and I do hope you find out what your longing for in this vast lands.” She explained with all her might.
“Well, Thank you so much for your advice, but for heaven’s sake I don’t need it, and better you little diary devil mind your own business” He thundered, his word splashed out like shoal of fishes, his voice course.
?They hit her like a ton of bricks but she continued “Akash, your speech was brilliant, I am not unaware that the speech was written by the librarian but the way you poured it out, the crowd was stunned, your voice modulation, the confidence and the way you used your emotions to rule your speech bred by? a great actor, at least try, you could give a go to the audition, they are today right, you are a commendable actor and you deserve the role of Bassanio” She gave a squeeze to his shoulders, the words just nudged out from her tongue.
“Maybe, I am not bred for acting and nor do I look that good like a model” His eyes narrowed as he scratched the back of his neck.
“Are you kidding, you look charming, any director would love to have you as a lead actor, I am not trying to be flirty but you look hot.” She giggled, and a grin was stretched out on her lips as she widened her green eye balls.
“Well, I needed that dose of appreciation, Thank you,” He winced.
“So, what are waiting for the auditions are in an hour at NCPA,” Her eyebrows raised
“Yes, Should I really try it out,” He gave an appealing look.
“Yes, By the way where exactly is NCPA?” She enquired, excitement dancing in her nerves.
“Near marine drive, would you like to visit chow patty with me it looks mesmerizing during evenings and its one of the best tourist sites in Mumbai, if you are fine with it, after my audition ends?” He enquired
“Yes, I would love to. How would it be if I could bring my friend along?” She requested with a wink.
“Ya, Fantastic, so we would meet at 5 at Marines after my auditions, I will book up a cab, see you soon, Bye “Saying he hurriedly trotted towards the auditions, his veins gushing with a new amount of joy and excitement. He was awaiting this moment since ages, all he required was a slight nudge and a great amount of faith, after so many years someone had instilled faith in his craft. And so he crafted his path towards his desire.

“ Kabir, A letter was found at the doorstep with your name encarved,? wanna read it” Mansi called out, loudly.
“A letter for me, who would write to me” Kabir gave a puzzled look, steadily trotting out from his room
“It’s from Mumbai, Vaidehi sent it. Serve yourself” She scooped the envelope towards him.
Dear Kabir,?
Sad that your life was low in the past few days, so I thought to pull in something interesting for you. Along with this is a brand new opportunity to spring your wings. Unfold it yourself. You untied my wings thread by thread and so here is the same needle. It will help you carve your future. Now it’s your turn to craft your path towards your dreams. Best of luck, Dear.
Yours,
The new girl merging in a new life
“Mansi, the letter is from the college of Bombay, Ramnarian Ruia Autonomous College, I always wanted to be a part of its alumni. They are providing me an opportunity to be a member of its faculty. Oh my god, I can hardly believe it. They are requiring a passionate and young teacher for biology in their junior college. They regard my teaching method to be new and interesting and they liked my resume as well. Simultaneously I could even take a degree in genetics. Isn’t this a splendid opportunity” He could not contain his happiness anymore; he would live a life beyond Hubli, a kind of life which he could not even fathom in his devil thoughts. And Mumbai was the hub of discovery and research, a perfect place to expand his fantasies of photography. He spoke so rapidly that his breath fumbled as he fidgeted on his desk.
“Felicitation Kabir, I told you, things which you really are inclined for always knock at your door. The entire world plots for your desire to be fulfilled. Now you could finally carve your name, and be someone you would look up to, Mumbai is a wondrous city to expand ones career and now you are a part of the best colleges in India, you are making it big. When are they inviting you?” She gave a tight hug to him and squeezed his shoulder.
“Thank you Di, I am going to really miss you loads, they are inviting me after 20 days to gear up my new beginning, but what if I leave in 15 days, perhaps I could bewilder Vaidu, she would? surely be missing me after all she is the lady who bestowed me with this enchanting occasion. Just imagine the remarkable look of her face when she would encounter me”? His mind was already wandering faster than his body, he felt like a kid who recently discovered a hidden door in his house and longed to unseal and behold a glimpse of the fascination it contained
“Yes, you need to do quite a lot of stuffing. You are rowing towards a turbulent ocean, don't lose your way.? In a few months I am going to meet a courageous and independent young boy, isn’t it?” She planted a kiss on his forehead.
“I promise, and you will come up to meet me right at Bombay, it’s the 3rd most urbanised cities in India, your classes will acquire a huge backspace for expansion.“ He pleaded in his quite bunny face, like a small child denied of candy.
“Yes surely. After leaving from Singapore i will book an aeroplane which will lead me to Bombay. You shall be there to pick me up at the airport, little guy, but just temporarily I can’t be there forever” She explained.
Mansi was leaving for Singapore today. Her business dragged her; she had to plug in a lecture in one of the institutes of the vast country.? She soared up high in the plunging skyline, one of the most hardworking girls of Rajkot, an unknown city of modern India, would now spread her motivating tales across the borders of India, a dream come true.
