The cars that raced up the Goodwood hillclimb with R53 suspension

This year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed was yet again a true celebration of the very best from the motorsport and automotive worlds. With the event as popular as ever, it was a delight to see so many R53 customer cars take the spotlight. With thousands of incredible cars on display from the past, present and future, we’re proud to have worked with some of the most exciting projects showcased at this year’s event. Here are some of the highlights:

Radford Motors

Fresh from its class victory at the historic Pikes Peak, the Radford Motors Type62-2 wowed with its aggressive lines and timeless livery. F1 champion Jenson Button, who has also raced in the R53-equipped Nitrocross championship, muscled the car up the hill. This Radford wasn’t the only success for R53 at Pikes Peak, with Robin Shute’s TSC-Wolf taking the overall victory back in June.

Gordon Murray

The searing sound of the naturally aspirated V12 packed into the sleek body of the Gordon Murray Automotive T.50 will never get old. Running R53’s IL46 dampers, the car has supreme performance and handling. Designed from the ground up to be the most thrilling car, no expense was spared as Gordon Murray and the team designed a car to give ultimate track confidence while also being refined on the road.

Hispano Suiza

Hispano Suiza’s Carmen raced up the hill in style with former F1 driver and the manufacturer's test driver Luis Pérez-Sala behind the wheel. The beautiful car created quite a buzz following its return to Goodwood, and has R53’s TR35 fitted for ultimate versatility.

Charge Cars

The electric supercar that merges classic muscle car design with cutting-edge technology. The 67’ by Charge Cars is fitted with R53’s MP40 at the front and IL46 suspension at the rear, and turned heads all weekend. It’s an electrified car with timeless style and supercar performance, so the suspension is designed to work across a range of driving styles and works on the track as well as on the road.
