CAROUGE… WHEN THE STREETS TELL LEGENDS
Historical stroll through the Old Carouge
Every day we walk, run or stroll through streets, boulevards, squares ; we write their names on envelopes, we fix appointments, we pronounce their name. What about giving life to these names ? Suddenly, we look at the same plate with a new eye, which intrigues or captivates us, and suddenly it awakens our curiosity. This promenade takes us through patronymics and toponyms, which all tell us a piece of history. While we titillate the etymology and look for their origin, we relate some pages of the past of Carouge: Roi Victor-Amé, Gabelle, Saint-Joseph, Débridée, Pont-Neuf, how many evocative names… Follow us, it has only just started !
