According to historical accounts, the origins of the Carnival of Venice can be traced back to the military triumph of the Venetian Republic over the Patriarch of Aquileia in 1162. As the victorious Venetians rejoiced, the festivities began with lively dances, eventually evolving into an official celebration during the Renaissance period. By the 17th century, the carnival had transformed into a prestigious event, serving as a means to preserve Venice's esteemed reputation across the globe. It was during the 18th century that this carnival reached the pinnacle of its fame.
