At Living in Style as well we love featuring works by some of the great Italian Masters
?Carlo Nason, (b. 1935) was one of a long line of Italian glassblowers who became famous for his layered glass lighting designs.? He learnt his craft from his father Vincenzo Nason in the family business.??
Nason was very active in the 1960’s and became known for his use of traditional glass-blowing techniques which he combined by experimenting innovative designs.
The result was a portfolio of innovative, weirdly futuristic space-age lighting designs – that were way ahead of their time.
In the 1960’s, he was invited by Italian lighting design firm “Mazzega” to work collaborate offering Nason the chance to experiment and experiment with more innovative designs.?? He left the family business and soon became known for his layering techniques and designed iconic floor lamps, table-lamps, sconces and pendant lights.
At Living in Style Gallery, we offer a collection of nearly 50 pieces of glass lighting designed by Carlo Nason. ??Our collection includes many of his signature pieces including the Lotus Lamp, Sfumato Floor Lamp and Tulip Pendants.
