Caring Communities Challenge extending its RFP deadline

At the beginning of March the Balsam Foundation and UpSocial Canada announced our Caring Communities Challenge with no idea how different the world would look by the middle of the month. The cultivation of caring communities could not be more compelling an area of work - in both our personal and professional lives.

We recognize most of us are being called to change our daily routines, work from home, work while looking after our children or our elderly loved ones, work while trying to ensure we have enough food to eat and medication to take should we find ourselves ill.

Given this unique time, our expectations of how this project would roll out have also changed. As a result, we are extending the Request for Participation to community organizations to April 13, 2020 at 5pm. If we hear you need more time, we will consider those circumstances too.

There is little we recognize about this global virus and the ways we are being challenged to change. We will see huge shifts in norms over the next couple of months and huge waves of love and kindness in between peaks of fear and pain. 

Now more than ever, let’s look out for one another.
