Cessna 402B Crash Near Panama City Airport

On Friday, November 24, 2023, a Cessna 402B, registered N76MD, manufactured in 1977, crashed shortly after takeoff from Panama City Albrook-Marcos A. Gelabert International Airport (PAC), Panama, during its initial climb phase. The cargo aircraft, which had been ferried from Sioux Falls to Panama in May-June 2023 and recently used for local test flights, went down in a wooded area near the airport, resulting in one fatality among the two pilots on board. Weather conditions at the time of the accident, reported at 16:23 UTC, included scattered clouds with cumulonimbus at 1,600 feet, temperature around 30°C, and no significant weather changes forecasted. Airbus Advances Autonomous Aerial Refuelling

Airbus has made significant progress in autonomous in-flight refuelling with its latest Auto’Mate flight test in November 2023, showcasing advanced AI-based navigation and control technologies. The test involved an A310 MRTT tanker and five unmanned drones (including two digital twins), demonstrating the capability of aerial tankers to autonomously guide and refuel receiver aircraft without human intervention. This breakthrough, part of Airbus' wider efforts in enhancing flight safety and efficiency, paves the way for future autonomous tankers and non-piloted combat air vehicles, potentially transforming both military and civil aviation sectors. British Airways Flight Makes Emergency Landing Due to Cockpit Fumes

On November 24, 2023, British Airways flight BA123, a Boeing 777-236ER, was forced to return to London-Heathrow Airport shortly after takeoff for Doha-Hamad International Airport, due to the detection of fumes in the cockpit. The aircraft, with registration G-YMMI, successfully landed back at Heathrow approximately 20 minutes following its departure, ensuring the safety of all occupants.
