Throughout November we are sharing Career Development stories, celebrating people from around the business. Today we will be sharing Grant’s story.
For many of our Ringway contracts, the winter maintenance season is just beginning and as the temperatures continue to fall, the gritters make their way onto our roads, keeping the local communities in which we work safe and moving.
For Grant Parker , Scheduler at Bleak Hall ( Milton Keynes City Council ) , this will be his first season as a gritter driver, following success in his HGV test at the back end of October!
Grant said: “Having been a map reader for various gritter routes, I expressed an interest in driving in August to Darren Smith CMgr MCIHT and he agreed to put me forward for the HGV test, I have now completed three runs so far this month and look forward to taking part in this winter maintenance season!”
Within the Milton Keynes contract, the training team based in Stilton have been hard at work, arranging training for almost 1000 people across the year! Some of the courses listed below are just a snapshot of those that have been going ahead during Career Development Month:
With further winter maintenance courses for 15 people finalising the training plan for 2023, Personal Development Reviews will lead the decision making for what courses will feature in the team’s 2024 training plan.
