#CareerDevelopmentMonth - Austin's Story
Through the month of November we will be sharing stories around career development to celebrate success, starting with Austin's story.
As an employer, Ringway recognises the significance of fostering an inclusive environment that enables individuals to thrive, irrespective of any obstacles they may face.
Ringway Hertfordshire understands the importance of promoting awareness regarding the advantages of diversity and inclusion and is committed to educating its employees about unconscious bias within the business.
The local team's collaboration with Step2Skills , which started last year, introduces opportunities for the Ringway team to work with Hertfordshire County Council to develop local residents with learning and physical disabilities, mental health issues, sensory needs and neurodiversity, offering them routes into employment.
Their most recent participant, Austin, who has autism, was interested in pursuing a career in administration. Austin was looking for a work taster to support him with his next steps and the Ringway team were very happy to offer Austin a placement working with their commercial department.
This partnership worked so well that the Commercial department invited Austin back to interview for a permanent position in the team. He was successful at interview and was offered the position. Austin now has a permanent position working three days a week as an administrator.

3 个月Great Inclusive Employment success story, one of many Step2Skills' success stories collaborating with local employers and local residents to identify suitable and sustainable employment opportunities. #inclusiveemployment at its best!
A fantastic outcome for Austin at Ringway, one of the many employers that we work with across the county of #Hertfordshire. Thanks go to the Step2Skills' Inclusive Employment project partners, SPS Training Solutions Limited and Sunnyside Rural Trust, who work with us on this project that was made possible by the part-funding from the European Social Fund!
