The Get Good on Zoom for Job Seekers is a fun, interactive, and supportive 90 Minutes that will level up your video presence!?

Here are some high level takeaways -- you'll have to experience the magic yourself in thier upcoming events!

Centering yourself before an interview:?Diaphragmatic breathing, breathing from your low belly. Tara told us to practice, this is not a tool to start trying to learn 5 mins before your interview.?

Preparing for the Interview:

  • Review interview invitation information completely
  • Make sure you test out the technology - does your computer need an update? Seriously folks as someone who schedules LOTS of video interviews I can't tell you how many get botched by weird ackward tech issues. This is not 2020! ??
  • Do your research. Understand the job description. Research the company. Understand the industry. Look up the background of the Interviewers. Have a few questions.

Preparing your workstation or background:?

  1. Pick a quiet place free from distraction and with good light.
  2. Look at yourself in the frame - you want your eyes to be in the top 1/3rd of the frame.
  3. Add books to bring up your computer if needed.
  4. Google Zoom Backgrounds, download your favorite. Fire up Zoom and add the background and test it out.?
  5. Consider what color you are wearing and be contientious of attire - majority of employers want job seekers to show up looking sharp.?
  6. Make sure YOUR name is saved in your zoom profile.??

They covered so much!?

  • Preparing your pitch. ???
  • How to overcome using filler words.?
  • How to get the most out of your lighting.???
  • Best practices with introducing yourself during a virtual interivew.?
  • Posture - "Good posture radiates energy!"????
  • Sending thank you notes! ?? As your #careerbff I endorse this practice!?

You really need to look out for their next class - it's the best investment under $50 bucks you'll spend this summer to level up your game!?

OMG Geeking out about this HOT tip --??Not a big make up person? Here is a technical way to give yourself a little zoom confidence! Use the "Touch up my appreance" function!?

?Video Settings ?? Backgournd & Effects ?? Bottom right - "Studio Effects"?

I am writing this with crazy hair but took pictures so you can see the difference below! LOL?

Left?All Natural |?Right?Touched?

The devil is in the details! Taking the time to think through all these aspects of a virtual interview will give you an edge in this competitive market!?

ALRIGHT... time to talk about the extended job search!

Stuck in an extended job search? Can you shift your perspective?! Discover how this 'waiting period' can become a unique opportunity for personal growth, resilience-building, and shaping you into an unbeatable job seeker. It's not a setback—it's a setup for your next big leap!" ?? (Btw The Big Leap by The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks is an incredible read. ??

Perhaps this is the first time you've found yourself actively seeking a job and it feels uncomfortable, disorienting even. We often intertwine our identities with our job titles, so when that title is in flux, it can be challenging to answer the question, "Who am I?"

You may have been a small company CEO, a Director of Sales, a Tech Recruiter, or an HR Manager in the hospitality industry. But beyond these titles, you are so much more.

This is a time to uncover and rediscover your strengths, define your unique value proposition, identify what makes you, you - beyond any job title.?

Hear me please.

??? You are so much more than a job title! ???

??????????????????????????????????????????????????

Consider this a time for growth and self-improvement. Engage in activities that boost your well-being and mental strength - exercising, practicing mindfulness or meditation, taking walks in nature, calling a supportive friend, or journaling.?

Remain consistent in your job search activities. Continue to be active on LinkedIn, applying for positions, networking online and in person, and sending outreach messages. As Tabitha Cavanagh says, "Job searching is a team sport! Don't job search alone!" As you do this, you're not just looking for work, but also building a powerful skill set.?

You know what that skill set is??You're becoming an excellent job seeker!!!

And guess what?

Many times, it's not the most qualified person who lands the job, but rather the best job seeker.

Each day YOU are becoming the BEST job seeker!

So, keep pushing forward, believing in yourself, and know this: You've got this!

You are more resilient and capable than you know, and this journey is going to prove it.

And even better it is going to position?YOU?to be a?#careerbff ?to someone else in the future who finds themselves learning this new "job seeker" skillset!?
