What did you do in your old position at Swarovski?
I originally joined the Merchandising team as an Allocator, in charge of replenishing stock and ensuring that our products were distributed effectively and on time to stores. I was also working closely with online partners, managing intake, and creating seasonal sales. A big part of my job was to communicate and work together with Operation support teams, as well as the central and local warehouses.?

What are you doing in your current position at Swarovski?
I am part of the Demand Planning team, where I work as an Allocator and Excel is my best friend. My job is to ensure our products are in the right place at the right time. I look after product allocations and weekly replenishment of stock for our stores across the United Kingdom and Ireland. I am also managing all restock, communicating and working together with Merchandising and Client Services teams.??
How did this career move within Swarovski happen?
I was always fascinated by Swarovski and becoming part of the company in 2014 made my dream come true. Back in 2017, as I became a mum for the second time, I had to put my career on hold. Five years later, I grabbed the chance to be a part again of this amazing brand and returned to the Demand Planning team. At the moment, I’m very happy, excited, and positive to see what the future brings.??
What does career mean to you?
To me career means success, progress and opportunity to learn and explore new things. Doing well at work has always been important to me. I am motivated to do a good job as it brings me joy and happiness to see results accordingly. To add to this, I am grateful to be surrounded by a very supportive team and am thankful for everything they do for me. One Team!

2 年You're a credit to the UK team Marta!

2 年Big brands have to start adopting measures to evaluate the possibilities of working with highly talented people who were not lucky enough to get a degree. High end jewelry design and manufacturing for instance solely require experience. Academical qualifications are unnecessary in this case if the candidates have all the knowledge about a certain job position, specially if it was acquired from real life experiences. I'm fed up with seeing untalented or unexciting people who do not have what it takes for certain positions, going out bragging on their status on social media knowing very well that there are hundreds of other candidates who probably deserve more recognition.

2 年Boomerang career moves are not uncommon; May not be true, or reasonable, for every individual in the career eco-system, but many like me and Marta Ziolek are around. It is a common saying, that it takes a year for the worker to understand the organisation; And it takes the same additional time for the organisation to understand the employee at his/her best; The best that one gets out of the other is during the third year. And thereafter, both the employee and the employing organisation makes the best of what can be had of each other; But there is a catch; Neither of the two can get into the rut and become comfortable - new challenges have to come by continuously for the value addition process to continue for both; There are lot of people and organisations, who get good in this business; There are many, who join and retire from their productive life working for only one organisation; But I think that is becoming rare now. Boomerang movers leave their comfort to continue learning and refresh themselves in new positions, at new places, with new co-workers, sometimes working with completely different products also; Only to re-christen themselves into their homes; Mature, driven and motivated for a new challenge. All the best!
