I'm back with a bang!
This is an additional newsletter edition to announce my confirmed guests so far this year. I launched Career Stories in November 2022 and been overwhelmed by the generosity of the people who have agreed to come on and chat.
The aim is to have a conversation about the guest and their career. What do they do, and why do they do it? We also cover early jobs, values and choices they have made throughout their career. They are highly interesting conversations, and packed full of advice for people starting out or changing career, and actually just for anyone! If you would like to see some of the many conversations I've already had then click here to open a previous newsletter which has links to them all. I outline what the person does and how I know them.
Events will be scheduled over the next few weeks, so please look out for those and click to attend. We will be live on both LinkedIn and YouTube, and welcome questions from he audience.
Coming up we have:
Jillian Mooney - Nutrition Coach, endurance nutrition specialist and Barr Ultra Commercial Manager. Jill is known as 'The Gut Whisperer' and says that she is handy with a ride on lawn mower. Jill had a career in the pharmaceutical industry before going self employed, so there's lots to talk about on this session. Plus I booked Jill for some nutrition advice late last year, and the results have genuinely been amazing. Thursday 25 Jan at 1pm
Louise Brogan - LinkedIn? Marketing for B2B, Podcaster, Small Business Champion and Speaker. Karen Tisdell told me I HAD TO connect with Louise, and how right she was. Looking forward to meeting IRL in March when Louise is a speaker at the UpLift Live conference I'm going to. Louise had a varied and interesting career before setting up her own consultancy. It included being a software engineer, IT Project Manager, Social Media Mentor across a range of sectors - telecoms, healthcare, local authority and so much more! Thursday 1st Feb at 1pm

Russ Hartland-Shaw - Executive Business Coach and Founder of Breathe Business Coaching. Russ is a business coach who wants to help you unlock your thinking, build your confidence, help you make bold decisions and realise your potential. He's had a varied career which started on an apprenticeship programme, and worked at companies including Costa and Whitbread. I know he's passionate about alternate routes of education for young people so it's going to be a great chat. Thursday 8th Feb at 1pm
Daisy Lund - General Practitioner and Medical Educator Co-host of 'In A Nutshell: The Plant-Based Health Professionals Uk Podcast'. I found Daisy and her colleague Clare Day by accident when I was searching for new podcasts to listen to. Their podcast is aimed at GP's, which clearly I'm not, but I've found them very interesting as I'm vegan and interested in the nutrition and health benefits around that. Friday 16 Feb time TBC
Steven O'Connor - Director at River & Rowing Museum in Henley on Thames. Really interesting career which includes being the founder and CEO of Fulham Reach Boat Club, Business Consultant at Scottish Rowing, Coaching officer at Wandsworth Borough Council, and corporate experience prior to that. Thursday 22 Feb at 1pm
Jo Watson (CMgr MCMI) - Thursday 7 March at 1pm - We will be talking about what made her leave teaching and set up her copywriting business. And of course, she is a GOD DAMN INSPIRATION. We will talk about her book - TOT ANALYSIS: Why Running Your Business is Child's Play, which will be full of useful information for anyone who has or is thinking about setting up their own business.
Gareth John - Chairman and Director of a number of branches of the Accountancy Training College who are winners of multiple awards. Gareth is also IoD Education Group co-lead, holds various positions within ICAEW including Education and Training Board Manager. Gareth also has a side hustle co-owning a wine bar in Bury St Edmunds. One of the main reasons I have asked Gareth on is because he is vocal campaigner for more effective and employer-relevant careers advice at schools and college. Determined that young adult should receive comprehensive and independent advice about appropriate career entry points and pathways. Thursday 28th March at 1pm
Thanks for reading and hope to see you in the audience over the coming weeks!
My next project is to convert these live shows into podcasts so I'll be announcing how to access those in due course.
