Today is not only my Mom's birthday but it is the day for Career Specialists, Influencers, Change Makers, LinkedIn Trainers, and Trailblazers who inspire, give great advice, and change lives everyday! Part #8.
My Mom has gone through a lot this year including losing her leg to Buerger’s Disease. A lot of loss but one thing about my Mom is that even though she has gone though so much, she still thinks about others. During the year, even when she was so close to death", she said always pay goodness forward especially during tough times.
So, today I am far away and decided that would be a perfect time to pay this forward! I always feel so blessed, and grateful, when I look back and see the amazing people I have had the chance to connect with and welcome into my #LinkedInPeoplePod.
LinkedIn is ALL about community and relationship building. I feel grateful everyday that there is so much knowledge, wisdom, and goodness being shared on this platform!!!!??
Zach Messler: On Intention
"Visualizing success—in other words, Intention—should be at the core of every dream you have…that is…if you want to make it real. Make Intention the driver."
Amy Perkins: On Courage
"So face those fears, do those scary things, flex that courage muscle and before you know it, I PROMISE you, the miracles and magic are waiting on the other side."
Roger Wilkerson: On Branding
"....instead of personal branding (fantasy) base your concept in reality - personality positioning!"
Toni Abraira: On Relationship Building
It may not be easy but #livefearlessly.
It may be difficult but be #uncomfortable.
It’s easy to take a second to post g#positivity.
Engage, #breakingfear is momentary.
Friendship that could last a lifetime is around the corner.
Angus Grady: On Simplicity
"Stop trying to complicate things...simple things done well make a massive difference.
*You have time to network, you have time to do some LinkedIn...remember it is the time getting to and getting from a networking meeting that does the damage
KISS Keep It Simple, Stupid"
Jillian Bullock: On Celebrating Success
"Business owners work hard and we shouldn't forget to share the milestones along the way or fear the 'tall poppy syndrome' most Aussies seem to suffer from.
So win or lose I'm gonna pat myself on the back and remind you guys to do the same when something good happens in your business outside of the ordinary.
After all, LinkedIn's favorite hashtag says it all #InItTogether "
Julian Smit: On Sensitivity
."...the internet itself hasn’t turned us into jerks or saints as some have argued based on online behaviors (trolling and moaning), it simply reveals to us what we always were and will continue to be; a collective consciousness made up of individuals, each with his or her better angels and darker demons. How we choose to use social media is up to each of us individually. But the less we act like jerks online and the less hypersensitive we become to each other’s thoughts, ideas, and differences, the sooner we’ll be able to heal the collective wounds and continue the good work of our ancestors, by advancing our collective consciousness to a higher ground."
Lucy Schalkwijk: On Passion and Fitting In
"Don’t try to please everyone. Go after your passion and your authenticity will shine through. The power of your community is not determined by its size alone, but by its passion around common areas of interest. It’s okay to go “niche” … Passion is more important than numbers."
Richard Moore: On Leadership
"Show more; tell less"
Debra (Cummings) Mathias: On Networking
"Give as you get. Don't always worry about what you are receiving. Make sure that others benefit from what you are offering. Find ways to help each other succeed. If you do this then networking becomes a joy, a true meaningful experience that will come back to you ten-fold. So, get out and network and be sure to pay it forward!"
Kyle Burt: On Personal Branding
"Take back an hour of your time each week, at the minimum, preferably 2–3. Pick a day during the week and schedule an appointment with yourself before or after work. Invest it in your most important investment; YOU. Improve yourself in order to improve the value you bring to others. Doing so will coincidentally improve your value in the marketplace, and thus your personal brand."
Wendy Weiner Runge: On Optimism
"A pessimist will weigh every action against his/her fear of looking like a failure. "I'll look bad if we..."
An optimist will weigh every action against the remaining steps it takes to get to our final goal. "We might go off course, but we'll learn. We'll climb back up and we'll keep marching."
We fail ONLY if we allow fear and negativity to stop us from sharing stories that capacitate.
What is more glorious than optimism?"
Derek Chew: On Realness
"So what's one tool that can allow you to pack more power into your communication so that chasing your passion doesn't seem like climbing a mountain?
Realness.
And you know what? Being real until you make it sounds a lot better.
Authenticity and vulnerability are still the #1 asset for engaging with your audience and generating goodwill.
People who fake it can have a good run, achieve executive roles, make a lot of money - but it's an exhausting way to live.
When it comes crashing down one day, you'll have nothing to show for it. You'll eventually run out of steam; and left to wonder how different it would be if you were real.
Give these two pillars; authenticity and vulnerability credo it deserves, you'll notice many positive changes beyond your own expectations."
Lacey Abbacchi: On Kindness
"Kindness never goes out of style. I don't care who you are, where you're from, or what you do - kindness can always be given. Even to a perfect stranger."
Purdeep Sangha: On Mindset
"Success is like playing a game of chess!
If you have ever played chess, it's not just about the moves you make, it's about the MINDSET you have when you play!??
?When you're in "the zone of genius" (as I like to call it) you can come up with solutions for every roadblock!
And when you're in business, it's all about breaking through your roadblocks!????"
