‘Career returns’ - iSource Career relaunch expands and helps women re-enter the workforce
iSource enables women in making a successful career comeback, through comprehensive job training and direct supervision. This article talks about Lavanya and Jeya Dharani who greatly benefited from the iSource career comeback program and made successful professional careers.
Before the pandemic happened, Lavanya had a plan for her career post-marriage. She gave many attempts to get back to work all in vain. Either she lacked confidence during interviews, or there were insufficient organizations prepared to recruit women with an interruption in their professional careers.
However, as soon as she was able, she began actively hunting for work. So she applied for an associate trainee position with iSource medical billing division to gain hands-on experience dealing with new clients and technologies, but the pandemic struck shortly after, and my chances of finding work fell even further. She took a break in November 2021 for a child and came back in 2022.
“However, it was at this low point in Lavanya's professional life that she discovered Avtar, a diversity and inclusion platform from iSource that assists women in launching second careers”.
Behind these numbers of stories, to work with iSource was exciting and I was a fast tracker with a quick succession in two years. But my sixth year turned out to be fateful when post marriage and motherhood; I found it unsustainable to continue a full-time job. "There were so many questions in mind, like "Will I be able to do honor to the work as well as my obligation as a mother?" Jeya Dharani, who is now a member of the medical billing technical staff, adds.
After nine months of break, she decided to seek opportunities to re-enter the workspace. "On the other hand, I wanted to establish a sense of self to be a strong woman and a confident mother to my child." "I had a strong feeling and belief that I was capable of doing both," she says.
"What iSource provided was equal opportunity," says Dharani. "Being considered equal is enough for women to come back to work."
