Career Pause

I am taking a career break to be with my wife, Kumi, who has advanced stomach cancer. Although I will appear active on LinkedIn, in reality the posts, mainly about my book on technical debt, were wrote a little while back and are appearing as a scheduled automated release. Sorry if I am slow to reply or do not reply to you.

I would like to thank Aqovia and Neuer Energy, my employer, for being so understanding and flexible over the past few months. They have enabled me to be with my wife in Japan whilst she received treatment, and they have accommodated my need for reduced hours.

I know that Aqovia do not have great ratings on things like Glassdoor, but they have been helpful, not only to me but to others within our organisation who have faced personal or family issues and needed to be in places such as India or the Ukraine. Aqovia has been there for me and my colleagues when it mattered most to us, which is important.

I would particularly like to thank Roy Thomas , Mustafa Arif and Louis Sutherland for help during this difficult time.

I would also like to thank the following colleagues, with whom it has been a pleasure to work: Hassan Zamir , Kishor Shris , Joe Ng, Abdul Wahab, Adeniran Joshua , Deyan Stanchev , Olha B. , Oluwaremilekun Osisanya , Sreeni Peddaveeraiah, Venkata Subba Reddy Govindu , Victor Udedibor , Shan Radhakrishnan, and Ada Fu .

Very sorry to be learning about this, Andrew. I hope that this pause allows you both to find additional strength as you journey forward and continue to combat this unfortunate illness.
