A career milestone...

I don't wish to self-promote, but just wanted to share a personal career moment as I receive my certificate of election to Fellowship of the ICSA, Governance Institute!

I've not followed the most conventional of career paths as a chartered secretary and governance professional, so pleased to see that my transition from listed companies to running my own business has been recognised as worthy experience and of sufficient seniority.

With this in mind, I'll continue to lead and nurture the team here at EXIMIA with passion and dedication to further our mission: to bridge the gap between corporate professionals and the creative process, so together we can create strategic employee communications with ease and added value. We believe that by doing so, we influence positive behavioural and cultural workplace shifts.

When a good company culture encourages employees to feel engaged, empowered, safe and valued, it helps support resilient growth and success for all stakeholders to enjoy. I truly believe that as constant disruption and change in the business landscape has become the new normal, a strong governance framework continues to provide a solid foundation to build values and culture upon. 

This is why, collectively, we need to ensure we strive to work past box-ticking and put governance in its rightful place - we can only achieve this by developing communication campaigns that are strategic and consistent, easy to understand and apply, whilst being connected to the bigger context of a company's purpose, values and strategic proposition. 

I hope my creative CoSec journey encourages some of my peers to be bold in following their own career goals and that being less conventional in the ever-changing business environment we work within can create extraordinary outcomes! FCIS and beyond...
