Those looking for a job in FAANG often feel anxious before a job interview, which seems crucial. Quite rightly so. Interviews are often very complex, require extensive knowledge, proficiency in transferring it and managing stress.
Recruiters admit that candidates are very tense and this paralyzes them. However, they try to justify themselves. Difficult questions are asked simply to get to know the candidate’s approach to solving problems, to get to know their train of thought and how they work under pressure.
“We check whether they have checked the assumptions, how they have broken the problem down into its prime factors” – says one of the recruiters. “We also pay attention to determination, body language, voice modulation, and salary expectations. All this to best match the candidate to the company” – he adds.
