Career development.
In any career, the fate of any employee is dependent upon the good will of the immediate manager.
The reason I say this is because if your immediate manager wants to help you in your career development, he/she can surely help you. The immediate manager is like a mother of a newborn baby. If the mother decides to kill the baby, the baby have nothing to do to make her not kill. In many instances, the best employees may leave their jobs not because they don't like job, but most of the time is because they are not in good terms with their immediate manager.
So we won't be wrong to conclude that people are not really for new jobs but new and better managers who will help them develop in their careers. When you are lucky to get one, thank God, if you haven't gotten one, I encourage you to keep looking around, your paths will cross one day and you will see the difference.

4 年Good publish. You are right, an individual's development is dependent on his or her immediate, but your reason behind it is what I would consider an exceptional case. The reason is simply because it's your manager's role to manage your performance. Your growth and development, in turn depends on your self drive, potential and performance. Yes, sometimes it boils down to the personal opinion of a manager over an individual, but I feel this as well is a relationships issue that must be natured by both parties. Good will is grossly putting it, unprofessional and done by bosses, not managers!
