Have you worked with a large number of clients over the years? Do you have a good turnover rate for customers?
If you’ve been in business for a couple of years and you can count the number of clients on your fingers, you might still have a distance to go to call yourself a success If you need a calculator to count your clients, you’ve probably been a successful coach!
? MONEY
For many coaches, the true measure of the effectiveness of your coaching and success is income. Do you have a stable income flow? Financial stability is one of the truest measures of success.
? REPUTATION
Though clients and income are numerical metrics that show success, one of the best measures of the effectiveness of career coach success is reputation.
What do the past and current clients say about you?
Do you get a lot of references from other clients?
What do you think of other coaches in your locality?
Take a look on the Internet and see if you can find out anything about your coaching – is it positive, negative, or mixed?
MEASURING COACHING SUCCESS ONE CLIENT AT A TIME
Though income and reputation are important metrics – if you aren’t making income, you probably won’t be a coach for a long time. Coaches are truly interested in helping their clients. You can measure the effectiveness of career coaching success in a few ways with each client.
? REVIEW
Conducting review sessions at the beginning, in the middle, and at the end with each client is one way to see how far they have come. Have they reached their goals? Have they achieved their dreams? Have they improved their lives and enhanced their happiness? With regular reviews, responsibility and sustainability improvements, and the effectiveness of career coaching success are enhanced.
? PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENTS
Now that coaching and psychology overlap to a certain degree, the use of psychological assessment in a coaching practice has become more common. There are several different assessments, which help to show how someone reacts under normal and stressful conditions that can be useful tools in measuring the effectiveness of Career Coaching success.
By using these measures you can assess your success and this can help you improve as a Coach. The more you improve, the more likely you will become a successful Career Coach and enjoy a rewarding and financially successful career as a Coach.

5 年Good post, Umesh! As I understand the Coaching engagement is usually time bound. In my view, if the Coach continues to keep the relationship with the client (in the context of Career Coaching) on regular basis to check the progress of the client, it would help in getting another business opportunity to Coach as well! On another note, I'm not quite convinced that Effective coaching would be a Successful coaching. As a Coach, I would do everything Effectively but the Success depends completely on the client's actions. The Coach doesn't have complete control to make it Successful. He/she can only prepare the client to produce his/her expected outcome.
