? Alayna Hayes, EdD, MBA , Assistant Provost and Senior Director of the Career Center, expressed enthusiasm for the update.??
?“It’s much more streamlined,” she said. “Our website is more visually appealing, and it’s now easier for visitors to discover the breadth of services we offer.”??
Vandy In 2.0??
Last academic year, the Career Center reimagined its Vandy In model, featuring eight career communities to help students explore various industries. “Nearly all of our programming will align with one or more of the Vandy In communities,” Hayes said. “This approach makes career discovery more accessible to students, giving them the chance to explore different industries and determine what they enjoy.”?
The communities not only bring peers together but also create opportunities to connect with industry experts and alumni. These connections foster meaningful relationships and provide valuable professional growth experiences.?
?New Resources??
The Career Center is continually adding new resources for Vanderbilt students.??
One such resource, Big Interview, is poised to significantly impact student preparedness. Big Interview is an online platform that uses artificial intelligence to help students prepare for interviews. The system can review résumés and even provide feedback on mock interviews, all thanks to the power of AI. This service will soon be available to Vanderbilt students at no cost.??
Additionally, the Commodore Closet, which offers professional attire to students, will soon have a permanent space on campus. Previously, the closet rotated locations, but this semester it will also have a dedicated location, making it more accessible to students.??
The Career Center plans to introduce more resources in the coming weeks, with details to be announced later. One notable resource is an online mentoring platform that connects students with alumni.?
“Technology evolves, and so do students’ needs,” Hayes said. “These new resources demonstrate our ongoing commitment to preparing Vanderbilt students to make an impact in any industry.”?
