Providing care home transport services in the South Coast of England?
This year the Care Home community looks to celebrate?Care Home Open Week?from 26th June to 2nd July, which is hosted this year by?Championing Social Care, a volunteer-led group of leaders from across the social care sector. In celebration of this EMA are doing a series of Blogs around Care Homes as we work closely with Care Companies and recognise the great work the people who work for them do.
Why choose EMA Patient Transport?
At EMA, we provide care home transport services and work closely with Care Homes like?Lavender Court,?Deepdene House,?Anna House?and?Footsteps Care. We work with Care Home Groups in the south coast region as their private ambulance partner, to help transport residents to and from their care home as well as to appointments.
Safety & Security
Our experienced and trained ambulance crews, many with backgrounds either in the care sector or emergency services, combined with fully equipped vehicles maintain the highest levels of safety throughout journeys.
We deliver a professional transport solution that both residents, care home staff and families can rely on, with peace of mind that individuals in our care are safe and secure whilst travelling with us.?
We have ability and all vehicles are equipped to help patients with a broad range of mobility issues, with each vehicle having a stretcher, secure fittings for wheelchairs and ramps. Patients with their own wheelchairs can be secured into the vehicle, alternatively we have wheelchairs on the ambulances.?
All staff have experience and are trained to support patients with dementia and Alzheimer’s.

Personable and Comfortable Journeys
We pride ourselves on our personable service ensuring patients have a comfortable experience when using our Care Home transport services.?
Ambulance crews wait with patients whilst attending their appointments to ensure they are collected in a timely manner, returning to care homes as soon as they are ready. There are no long and unnecessary waiting times for ambulances to collect patients which can sometimes be the case with private ambulance and?NHS patient transport?services. Waiting times can be detrimental to a patients health, so a private patient transport service may be the best option
Open communication with patients and families
Having regular and open dialogue with the care home, residents and their families provides the opportunity for us to gather all relevant information about the patient, their needs and assess any potential problems. We have?5 star reviews?for a reason for our Care Home transport services. Equally, our team is always on hand to answer questions and make sure everyone is fully aware of how we can help and what we are required to provide.?
Special requests
We also do special occasion trips where residents would need medical or physical assistance and help, and wouldn’t normally be able to attend these occasions for medical reasons. This could be to Weddings, Funerals, or any sort of engagement they wanted to go to. Even if a resident wants to go the seaside for the day, get some fish and chips and visit with friends we can do that for you.
We are also able to accommodate more unusual requests. For example, during one palliative transport booking, we were delighted to be able to work together with the?Macmillan Unit?at Christchurch Hospital to take a patient to?Bournemouth Pier?and beach. This place held many important memories for her, and that she wished to visit one final time. Read about our patients journey in the?Bournemouth Echo.
Our?team?provide a care home transport service that maintains residents safety and security whilst delivering a professional, tailored personal service and making sure they are comfortable whilst in our care.?
How can I book EMA’s services?
