Food is more than just a source of physical nutrition for the body. It can also be associated with memories and emotions and serves as a source of enjoyment, socialisation and dignity.
Care home mealtimes are important because they play a significant role in the quality of life and the health and wellbeing of people living in care settings, especially those with dementia and cognitive impairment.
Just because someone chooses to or needs to eat in their rooms, doesn't mean that they should be treated differently to those who dine in communal areas.
