Blockchain systems like Ethereum are working hard to build a new generation of decentralized applications that could compete with today’s centralized software. Cardstack is an open source network and protocol that aim to build a decentralized software ecosystem, which offers end users an enjoyable experience across decentralized apps(dApps). The main focus of Cardstack software is on the user to dictate how they will interact with the applications to benefit their lives. The network is developed to also reward the software developers who built the dApps a fair distribution of rewards based on usage of the application from users. Cardstack users will be able to utilize features from different apps, without the messy management of separate cloud subscriptions or utility tokens. If they like, they can connect their data (or keep it separate) to bridge services they like from different layers of the Internet, all this is possible via “cards” that can be manipulated by users however they like, Embed, expand, clone, approve, retract, permanent store, users own and control their own data using Cardstack. The Tally Protocol, under active development by Cardstack, is tackling the architectural challenges face in time past. For clear explanation, Tally is a Layer 2 consensus algorithm that lets decentralized apps orchestrate staked miners to perform distributed parallel computing function on GPU hardware. The goal is to make it possible to run sophisticated reward-splitting algorithms on spam and fraud detection, PageRank-like analysis, and the ingestion of high-volume analytics data from cloud-hosted applications. They are implementing the Tally network separate, but governed by, the main Ethereum network. That is, anyone will be able to join the Tally network by staking tokens into their contract on main net. The Cardstack Framework is what developers will use to build powerful, card-based apps on the blockchain. Construct custom workflows, add in ready-made functionality. Just like users, developers can abandon the ancient way of having separate work silos for their projects. With Cardstack, they can have a single ecosystem with a brimful of features from open source stacks, and retrievable from all the apps they require. Dapps and cloud service providers, and developers can access their features. And the token to power the governing smart contracts is the Cardstack token (CARD), which an ERC-20 token is built on the software, designed specifically to reward open source developers for a sustainable marketplace. Each time a user spends CARD on an app, they get staked through smart contracts into a reward pool, which are periodically distributed to app creators and contributors. The company is incorporated in Switzerland and public token sale will hold on March 6, 2018. The project will sell 40% of the tokens in a crowdsale with a minimal funding target of $10 million and maximal cap of $35 million. 6 billion CARD tokens will be sold for $0.0175 each. Contributors will need to do KYC/AML and con contribute with ETH. Over the following 10 years 4 billion tokens will be newly distributed to be used for reward pools so that a total of 10 billions tokens will ever exist. The specific details of the tokens sale can be accessed on https://cardstack.com/,here you can also find a graphic that shows how the distribution changes after certain years due to newly generated coins. The Cardstack software will play a major role in the new emerging dApp market. By centering on the consumer with the goal to make the blockchain ecosystem easy to understand and use. The Cardstack team and partnerships have the experience it takes to see this project to fruition and change the way users view and use blockchain based softwares.
