The cards are back! (Spring Training Update)

The cards are back! (Spring Training Update)

Hello everyone! We almost have 1 full month of regular season baseball in the books. I wrote this article to provide everyone with an update on the cards I previously sent off for grading. All cards have been graded with the exception of the Francisco Alvarez (I want to sell this card raw) and the Jasson Dominguez (already graded, not for sale).

Lets dive into the article. Buckle up, some of these grades are rough!

"Ronny Mauricio was born on 4/04/2001 in San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic. He is 6'3/166lbs, bats switch and throws right. So far in spring training, he has gone 2 for 6 with 2 HR, 3 RBI and 3 runs. He's been solid with an .333AVG/.429OBP/1.762OPS line. This young man has a heart of gold. He wants to be apart of this opening day roster. He has amazing power. One of the homeruns he hit a couple of days ago was over 450 feet! Keep an eye out for him. ETA for his debut is 2023. I can see him being called up during the regular season to fill in for injured players, or used as bench depth".

Ronny Mauricio- This grading was not so bad. A 9 Mint overall with a 10 for the auto is solid. I'm content with this grading. You know what I'm not content with? Mauricio not making the opening day roster. He is a MENACE in AAA right now for the Syracuse Mets. 6 HR, 14 RBI's, 22 H and a league leading 14 XBH in only 16 games???? Batting .355 AVG with a 1.193 OPS is crazy good. Call this kid up and get him some reps. While you're at it, call up Mark Vientos.

"Noelvi Marte was born on 10/16/2001 in Cotui, Dominican Republic. He is 6'0/216lbs, bats right and throws right. He's been good so far in spring training, going 2 for 5 with 1 run scored. He's posted a .400AVG/.4000OBP/.800 line. In 287 games playing minor league baseball for the Seattle Mariners & Cincinnati Reds he has 45 HR, 193 RBI, 64 SB, with a .283 AVG. Noelvi's ETA for his MLB debut is in 2023. I'm hoping he can make the opening day roster! He is currently the #29 overall prospect in the MLB".

Noelvi Marte- This card got the same results as the Mauricio card. 9 mint overall with a 10 on the auto. That's really solid! Unfortunately, Noelvi has not been so solid in action so far. He's currently down in AA for the Chattanooga Lookouts. Just 1 HR, 2 RBI's with only 9 H at 43 AB. He's sporting a .209 AVG with a .641 OPS. I really hope he can turn it up and get hot soon. He's moved up to #26 on the MLB Top 100. His projected ETA has been pushed back to 2024.

"Henry Davis was born on 9/21/1999 in Bedford, NY. He is 6'2/210lbs, bats right and throws right. In his first spring training game, he went 1 for 3 with 1 RBI, 1 SB, with 2 runs scored. He put up a .333AVG/.400OBP/.733OPS line. Henry has great size and power. I can see him becoming the franchise star for the Pittsburgh Pirates in the near future. I have been following him since his NCAA days at Louisville. He is a former 1st round, 1st overall pick in the 2021 MLB draft. ETA for his MLB debut is 2024. He is currently the #57 overall prospect in the MLB".

Henry Davis- This one is absolutely soul crushing. A 7.5 on a 1/1 of the #3 prospect for the Bucco's?! It's understandable so I'm not upset. Why am I not upset? Well, it's one of the risks you take when you send cards off to be graded. Cards can be damaged in transport. I bought this card raw online and then had it sent to another location, so it could be graded. These things happen. They happen to the point where you're going to see it with the next couple cards I show you.

Henry has been doing decent for the Altoona Curve so far. 2 HR, 7 RBI'S, 8 H with 36 AB. Batting with an AVG of .222 and rocking a .848 OPS. He's moved up to #51 overall on the MLB Top 100. I got to get some better cards now to redeem myself.

"Gunnar Henderson was born on 6/29/2001 in Montgomery, AL. He is 6'3/220lbs, bats left and throws right. He was called up by Baltimore towards the end of the 2022 season. In 116 AB he went for 30 hits, 4 HR, 18 RBI, 1 SB with 12 runs scored with a .259 AVG/.348OBP/.788OPS. He is currently the #1 overall prospect in the MLB. It is anticipated he will be on the opening day roster. He has great size and a nice pop to the bat".

Gunnar Henderson- Coming into the season, Gunnar was the #1 overall top prospect. As of right now, he's not playing like one. He's playing like the 8.5 I received up here. These Prizm cards have a really sturdy card stock. The surface however, can get very scuffed and dirty. Gunnar has been apart of the O's everyday roster. He's gone yard 1 time. Batting with a .176 AVG and carrying a .648 OPS. Lets see how long it takes for him to start crankin it.

"Jordan Walker was born on 5/22/2002 in Stone Mountain, GA. He is 6'5/220lbs, bats right and throws right. So far in spring training, he's gone 3 for 9 with 1 HR, 3 RBI and 2 runs scored. He has put up a .333AVG/.333OBP/.1111OPS line so far. This kid has phenomenal power and raw talent. He's going to be a threat for years to come. His ETA for debut is 2023 however, St. Louis has fantastic depth. We may see him after the all star break or pushed back until 2024. He is currently the #4 overall prospect in the MLB".

Jordan Walker- We end this article with an underwhelming 8.5 (got a 10 on the auto) of Jordan Walker. If you take a look on the left hand side of the back of this card, the corners are COOKED. Another card damaged in transport. This is the risk of buying raw cards online.

Walker is a top candidate to win NL ROTY so far in this very young season. The big man has crushed 2 HR, collected 9 RBI's and has smashed 18 hits. He's got a very solid AVG of .269 with an OPS of .698.

He's been cracking the everyday lineup and has been making a great impact so far in his rookie campaign. He even went on a 12 game hit streak tying Eddie Murphy's MLB record! His last couple of games, he's been struggling. He'll pick it back up again. I believe in him.

This is the end of the article! Grading takes quite some time. That is the reason why I could not provide an update sooner. I will have more cards to show yall real soon! I'll make sure to keep everyone in the loop. Until next time, I'm out. PEACE!
