Cardea's Internship Program

We launched our internship program when the company was founded in 2014. Internships are beneficial to an individual’s professional development as they aid in applying education and experience to professional workplaces, strengthening credentials, learning about oneself, and choosing a career path, networking and learning from other industry professionals, as well as identifying what sets one apart from the competition in the job market. Companies also benefit from internships as interns provide a fresh perspective on ideas and strategies, present opportunities for reverse mentoring for tenured team members and create a pipeline for potential full-time employees.

Maintaining our internship program was a priority even after we shifted to a remote work environment during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2020, 2021 and 2022, we partnered with college seniors and new professionals in the communications field to help us evolve and enhance our internship program with a continued desire to accelerate their success and help develop them into future leaders. Our internship program provides opportunities for undergraduate and master’s students, and we currently host one intern during the summer to observe and get involved with the diverse client services we offer. The Cardea Group, even though it is a small business, is focused on making an impact in our community. As our company continues to grow and evolve with the help of our team members and interns, we have every intention that our internship program will, as well. We are proud to employ and promote past students from local universities and organizations and aim to continue elevating these individuals.

?We greatly value our interns’ individual experiences, backgrounds, education and interests when developing a tailored project plan to ensure their success in their chosen field. Our team is flexible to the needs of everyone, and we work to ensure an adaptable working environment. Since we value the importance of adaptability, our internship currently operates as a remote program, but individuals have an opportunity to meet with the team for collaborative brainstorming sessions, client work and team-building events. We aim to establish a safe and open space where our interns feel comfortable voicing their opinions and offering suggestions and recommendations, and we strive to create diverse opportunities to provide a well-rounded experience and support the professional growth of every individual.

Our internship program offers our team a valuable opportunity to learn, listen, teach and most importantly it creates a collaborative space for all team members to grow. We are continually striving for a more diverse and inclusive team. In 2022, we welcomed our first international student intern to our internship program. One of our core beliefs is that we welcome and celebrate the diversity of people, ideas and experiences, so we look forward to working with many new professionals over the coming years.
