Carbs with a brain?

I'm sorry to disappoint you but carbs aren't smart.

You've heard that right? 

Smart carbs?

If you haven't, then I know you've heard of good carbs and bad carbs. 

What does that mean? 

Well, good carbs tend to come with some other stuff. 

Fibre

Nutrients

Water

Less sugar and more goodness.

More volume per Calorie

Bad carbs come with pretty much the opposite of that. 

So here's the thing.

Rather than cutting out food groups because your favourite celebrity promoted their newest diet craze

How about you try the following? 

Try to make better choices. 

Too often we just eat what's convenient.

What's handy and easy to grab

When you're going to eat something, ask yourself the following questions.

Is it natural? (No added ingredients)

Did it grow in the ground?

Can you pronounce the names to everything on the ingredients list?

Does it come with fibre?

Is it low in sugar? (Less than 10 grams per 100 grams of food)

If the answer to all of these things is yes, you're good to go. 

Add some protein in there and you're on track.

It can get a lot more complicated than that but for the purpose of this email, I'm going to leave it at that.

Less rules have a better chance of success than more rules. 

Keep it simple my friend.
