Carbon Fibre Pressure Vessels
SAGEZANDER LTD
Serving our customers with their needs at the heart of our operations.
There are five types of pressure vessels: Types I, II, III, IV, and V. Each type has a different construction.
Type I pressure vessels are standard all-metal pressure vessels. Type II are an evolution of Type I with a limited composite reinforcement. Type III pressure vessels further build on Type II pressure vessels by using a more complete composite reinforcement that provides reinforcement in all directions. Type IV does away with the metal interior, now relying on carbon fibre filaments to withstand the full pressure, only relying on an interior plastic liner to guarantee the seal of the vessel. Type V pressure vessels are the next step in pressure vessel design; relying only on the carbon fibre filaments and resin to withstand the pressure and guarantee the seal of the pressure vessel.
Carbon fibre pressure vessels, with the weight and pressure benefits that they bring, are seen as key to the inevitable widespread adoption of hydrogen technologies in transportation, on land and in the air.
