?

To ensure the events remain as environmentally friendly as possible, the bubble itself is inflated using a generator running on low carbon fuel and all emissions generated during the transportation of the balloon will be offset.?

This fantastic endeavour is part of the overarching work of the Staffordshire Sustainability Board, a collaboration between the County Council and Staffordshire's eight district and borough councils. Together, we aim to develop and implement impactful carbon reduction initiatives across the entire county.??

Carbon emissions are produced in nearly every aspect of our daily lives, including driving, heating our homes, disposing of waste, and even charging our phones. When excessive carbon and other greenhouse gases accumulate in the earth's atmosphere, it leads to the phenomenon we know as climate change. In Staffordshire, climate change translates to hotter, drier summers and warmer, wetter winters. It also means an increase in extreme weather events such as droughts, floods, and storms.?

While we cannot completely eliminate carbon emissions, we can all do our bit to reduce our carbon footprint through sustainable choices. The goal is for everyone in Staffordshire to live in thriving and sustainable communities, and tackling climate change is one of the key priorities to achieve this vision.?
