From 25 August to 3 September 2023, CARAVAN SALON Düsseldorf becomes once again the centre of the caravanning world. More than 720 exhibitors from all over the world present themselves on 250,000 square meters and show that mobile travel is much more than just vacation. It is an attitude to life that more and more supporters are now discovering. Last year, more than 235,000 visitors came by to experience premieres and trends up close.

As the world's leading trade fair for the caravanning industry, CARAVAN SALON covers almost the entire market and presents the following range of products in 16 halls and on the outdoor space: Motorhomes & Caravans, Campervans, Premium, Equipment & Outdoor, Travel & Nature, Technology & Components.

For ten days CARAVAN SALON will be the most relevant international sales platform for mobile leisure and the annual highlight for all caravanning enthusiasts. You won't find more leisure vehicles anywhere in one place: In halls 1,4,6,7a, 9-12, 16 and 17, CARAVAN SALON presents the whole world of mobile travel – from cult mini caravans to motorhomes with exquisite interior design to specially designed family vehicles. Almost all renowned national and international manufacturers are represented and show the latest generation models and popular classics.

The campervan is particularly flexible thanks to its compact dimensions and is also suitable for everyday use. Especially younger caravanning fans and sporty, active caravanners prefer this leisure vehicle class. CARAVAN SALON offers a unique selection of campervans in halls 12 and 15 – whether full comfort in the smallest space or purist design.

The red carpet is rolled out for the premium segment of leisure vehicles in hall 5 – from the 5-star ambience in the interior, to the integrated garage for the sports car, to slide-outs that increase the living space of the luxury model in the blink of an eye. That's why the Travel & Nature area in hall 3 presents the entire range of caravanning and camping tourism. Here, traditional and alternative campsites and RV parks, the most attractive regions and the most varied leisure activities are featured. Furthermore, numerous destinations throughout the world provide information on great locations for the caravanning season. In addition, there is a host of inspirations and tips provided for the right gear for outdoor sports. Likewise, the suppliers of tents, folding caravans, caravanning and camping accessories will showcase their diverse ranges.

The Technology & Components area presents the entire innovative power of the accessories and equipment sector. Manufacturers of technical accessories make their grand entrance in halls 13 and 14. Visitors will find professional equipment such as water treatment systems, air-conditioning technology, industrial batteries and much more. Trend themes include energy supply, the use of environmentally friendly materials or particularly space-saving solutions.

·??????3rd German Pitch Day

In Germany there are currently not enough motorhome parks and pitches to keep up with the rising number of motorhomes. A development that also brings into focus more and more pitches in off-the-beaten-track locations and one that gives an increasing number of regions the chance to benefit from the caravanning boom.

Against this background Caravaning Industrie Verband e.V. (CIVD), Allgemeiner Deutsche Automobil-Club ( ADAC ) and Deutscher Tourismusverband (DTV) extend an invitation to the 3rd German Pitch Day held at CARAVAN SALON in Düsseldorf under the heading “sustainable, digital and informative – what moves us and how we make progress” on Monday, 28 August 2023. The event program with long-standing industry experts and scientists promises exciting insights: Topics are nature-compatible tourism projects, the profitability of charging infrastructure at motorhome parks and campsites, expectations of tenants for overnight accommodation and thoughts of Gen Z.

·??????CIVD sample pitch on the outdoor premises

The CIVD will again present innovative solutions revolving around pitch technology and infrastructure in a special exhibition on the outdoor space between halls 10 and 17. By means of practical examples, experts and manufacturers will demonstrate how motorhome parks are successfully planned and operated. A special focus will be placed here on the themes sustainability and e-mobility.

·??????Symposium “Natur.Tourismus.Zukunft”

More and more people wish to spend their leisure time in nature. For many tourist regions and players this trend is a genuine opportunity to reconcile nature conservation and quality tourism with well thought-out and sustainable concepts.?

But what do sustainable tourism projects look like? And how can sports offerings be linked with nature conservation? Under the motto “Experiencing Nature: Adventure, Outdoor Sport and Sustainable Tourism” this topic will be discussed by representatives from political, business, scientific and sports spheres at the “Natur.Tourismus.Zukunft” (“Nature.Tourism.Future”) symposium on Tuesday, 29 August 2023. Participants can look forward to best practice and an active exchange on sustainability themes.

·??????New training curriculum??

The first apprenticeship curriculum specifically geared to this sector is an important milestone for the caravanning industry. CIVD presents the new caravan and motorhome technic apprenticeship where especially skilled technicians will be trained in the manufacturing, maintenance and repair of caravans and motorhomes in future. With this move the caravanning sector is actively responding to the enormous demand for skilled labour. This year, the CIVD will also dedicate a separate booth to this new apprenticeship on the outdoor premises of CARAVAN SALON.

·??????ADAC – “Camper of the Year 2023”

ADAC is looking for the “Camper of the Year 2023” – the finals of the national German competition will be held on Saturday, 2 September, at CARAVAN SALON (outdoor space in front of hall 10). Eight caravanners from all over Germany have qualified for these finals during the ADAC Camping Days in June or with a wildcard and will have to demonstrate their skills in various driving disciplines as well as performing a number of special tasks from the areas of driving precision, skill and camping knowledge. But the event is not just for entertainment – the ADAC "Camper of the Year" focuses much more on road safety.?

Whether beginners or seasoned caravanners – at CARAVAN SALON, exhibitors will meet their target groups. At StarterWelt in hall 7, experts provide hands-on tips and recommendations for vehicle types, itineraries, or the right choice of campsite, and will also be on hand to answer specific questions and offer one-on-one help and assistance. In addition, the lecture forum offers a varied program covering a wide variety of themes for newcomers in mobile leisure.

·??????Self-conversion Adventure?

More and more people are interested in professional advice and expert knowledge when it comes to self-fitting their own motorhomes. At the “Self-conversion Adventure” by “Explorer / Vanderlust” in cooperation with Martin Kreplin on the outdoor space in front of halls 13 and 14, hobby converters can find practical tips for converting and expanding their vehicles into mobile homes. Varying daily lectures for beginners, advanced and professional fitters will cover themes such as power and energy supply, workshop and materials science, heating and cooking, living and joinery, windows and hatches as well as insulation or layout planning.

·??????Caravan Center

Those wanting to turn the trade fair visit into a mini break, should head for the popular Caravan Center at the trade fair’s parking lot P1. Europe’s biggest RV park with some 3,500 serviced and unserviced pitches opens for the run-time of CARAVAN SALON. After trade fair hours, the Caravan Center is the meeting point for the community bringing together exhibitors, visitors, journalists, and all other friends of mobile leisure.

The Preview Day on Friday, 25 August, will allow (business) visitors to enjoy the debut of the leading trade fair in an exclusive setting. Thanks to the limited number of tickets issued, interested parties can visit vehicles and innovations at leisure and obtain insightful advice from exhibitors.
