New research coming

Dealerware is releasing research that shows how dealership fleets meet customers’ transportation needs today, how customers pay to access those vehicles, and in what ways they would be willing to pay for more flexible access to dealers’ inventory. For example, customers want more ways to experience electric vehicles before buying, and flexible access through fleet programs could be the right solution. 60% of premium-brand drivers and nearly half of non-premium brand drivers said, in a survey completed by J.D. Power on behalf of Dealerware, that they would prefer an EV over a combustion car for a loaner vehicle if given the choice. To us, it’s a clear sign that dealerships can loan or rent EVs to help range-anxious customers evaluate those cars’ ability to meet their day-to-day needs. Reserve a copy of the report right here.

Whether it’s a day, a week, or a weekend, EV loaners and rentals are the best way to let customers discover whether an EV is a good fit for them," wrote Dealerware’s CCO, Cuyler Owens from the show floor.
