Dhaval Desai decided to establish a food zone that could be an unparalleled mediator between vegetarians and non-vegetarians by serving oodles of food items with egg as a key ingredient. Fascinating, isn't it? Established in 2016, the brand at present has become one of the most successful egg cuisine chains with 7 branches under its umbrella. Dhaval along with the Co-founder of Hetal Soni came up with the concept of "Taste Bhi Health Bhi" in Surat, a city known for foodies and experiments performed in respect of well-known food items. The second-to-none menu of Captain Egg, loaded with fresh ingredients and creative recipes will have you coming back again and again. Measured spices and fresh hand-picked ingredients design the menu of Capital Egg which ensures that customers do come back to have toothsome food items with a fusion of Indian and Oriental cuisines specially created from Akshat Parihar's ( Captain Egg's Chef) worldwide traveling and culinary skills.

1. Are you from a family of entrepreneurs? When did you know you wanted to become an entrepreneur?

My Dad ran a business that was part of the Chemical Industry. I have done my graduation with the Commerce stream. Well, I began off as a salesman and later also worked as an employee in a finance company. Entrepreneurship is in my DNA, owing to which I with the advice and support of my father, decided to enter into the entrepreneurial world of the food industry.

2. How your brand is unique?

The concept of having all the food items with eggs as their key ingredients itself is an incredible concept in the first place. However, the incredibility of the concept does not put halt to the creativity and innovation related to our food menu. We have 70+ Egg dishes on our menu. It is always ensured that each and every dish matches the taste buds of people keeping the health factor into consideration. One hardly would have heard of a brand like Captain Egg.

3. What is your Mission and Vision?

My vision behind Captain Egg was to create a brand that satisfies the taste buds of people keeping the health factor in mind. Our mission at present is to open 200+ Franchise Outlets by 2024.

4. Who and where is your Target Audience? What is a typical profile they fit into? Who are your clients and what do you offer them?

Well, there is no particular section as a target audience. People irrespective of age, profession, culture, and gender are our customers. When it comes to franchises, while selecting franchise partners, we prefer qualitative and mature businessmen with some prior experience. We provide everything from training, architectural insight, and Kitchen men's power as well to our franchisees.

5. Share about your different Franchise Models. What kind of support do you provide to them? How are your offerings unique?

We provide our franchisees with Marketing strategies, Men-power, Recipes, Vendor-Management and Day to day operational support. We also have a Relationship Manager and Sales Manager providing continuous support to the outlets. Our support system ensures the rapid boost in sales and marketing of the outlets.

6. How many customers have you served till now? How many franchised outlets do you have till now and how long have they been with you?

On average, each outlet serves around 1500 customers per month. We have 17 franchise outlets at present. The first outlet was opened in 2019

7. Who's your biggest competitor in this space in India or abroad?

To be very honest, the biggest competition for us is roadside carts selling eggs, omelets, and eggy food items. It is a challenge for the brand to shift the customers from roadside sellers to our food zone.

8. What has/have been your biggest challenge(s) so far?

We stand out in the market owing to the incredibility of our concept. We keep adding more to our existing list of dishes. I can say that bringing in continuous innovation in regards of food items and recipes is an exciting challenge for us which we have been overcoming quite well with passion.

9. Will you please shed some light upon your franchising module? What cities are you present in?

500-600 Sq. Feet Carpet Area is required for the unit. Total Project Cost is 20 Lac INR (inclusive of Franchising fee of 6Lacs INR.) We charge an 8% royalty on monthly sales. Currently, we're present at Surat, Baroda, Bardoli, Vapi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bhubaneswar, and Kathmandu (Nepal).

10. Do you have any plans to scale internationally- if at all you do- what are some countries you plan to target first?

Well, we already have our outlet in Nepal. Besides that, we have got multiple inquiries from Canada, Australia, and the UK as well. However, we are on hold keeping the current situation of pandemics in the mind.

11. What products/services do you want to add to your existing offerings?

We are keen to add to our existing list of food items. We intend to add our own protein shake to the menu. Besides that, we are also contemplating introducing the Ready to Eat food product with our brand name.
