Capstone ITS successfully completed an in-person session of the LNG101 Certification!

Capstone Industrial Training Solutions (Capstone ITS) conducted an in-person session of LNG101 - LNG Process Fundamentals Certification Program, Capstone ITS' e-learning course that provides the essential knowledge required for work as an LNG operator. ?

Through a strong partnership with Woodfibre LNG (WLNG) and their collaboration with the Squamish Nation Training & Trades Centre and the 加拿大不列颠哥伦比亚理工学院 (BCIT), Capstone ITS provided this training session for Squamish nation students of both WLNG and BCIT at the centre.?

Julius Lacsamana , a seasoned process specialist with our group of companies guided the session. We caught up with Julius to discuss his experience with the course, and the connections he made in the session.?

What was covered during the session??

Julius: “Capstone ITS' LNG101 - LNG Process Fundamentals Certification Program serves as an avenue to learn not only the side of operating an LNG plant but also important considerations for designing and building an LNG plant.??

The training session was tailored to enrich each student's learning experience from BCIT and WLNG. The modules cover LNG chemistry, different liquefaction technologies, and the dehydration process which paired nicely with what they learned already from the training received from BCIT and WLNG. Some of the additional topics covered included chemistry lessons such as London dispersion forces of molecules, cavitation of pumps, mercury removal of the gas, application of TEG dehydration, and mole-sieve dehydration.”

What was the level of engagement from the peers like??

Julius: “The Q&A portion of the session served as a connection between our team and the students. It created a fruitful conversation and knowledge sharing between the Capstone ITS team, WLNG and BCIT students. Their curiosity around LNG spiked when engaging through in-person interactions and discussions, providing an opportunity to further explore topics covered in past training, or new areas of learning.”?

The WLNG operations superintendent was also present, engaging with the students and providing a wealth of on-the-job knowledge. The topics and information he added were remarkable. This training engagement with WLNG not only created new friendships and connections between the cohorts pursuing common careers, but it quickly broadens your understanding of LNG facilities."

What was your biggest take away from this session??

Julius: “The training session provides a valuable opportunity for Capstone ITS and our group of companies (OgeeDev, Solaris MCI, Solaris Solutions, and Ensol Systems) to create a positive impact on the community, and in this case, the Squamish Nation.
