Doing Good in Utah with Social Impact, Policy Entrepreneurship and Innovation
Hey there, folks! We at Ivory Innovations and Ivory Homes are leaving our beautiful Utah landscapes behind for a bit and heading to Washington, D.C. This isn't just any trip - we're jumping headfirst into the melting pot of housing policy and innovation. Our goal? To learn, to share, and to shine a light on the brilliant minds crafting housing solutions across our nation.
Our head of research, Dejan Eskic , and I are hitting the ground in D.C. with a packed agenda, all centered around housing policy. We're not just there to talk about Utah's solutions - we're eager to absorb as much knowledge as we can from every corner of the nation. We're especially interested in concepts like Rep. Blake D. Moore's proposition for affordable housing near military bases.?
Jenna Louie , our dynamic Chief Innovation and Strategy Officer, will be adding her energy to the mix at the HUD and NAHB housing showcase. She'll be amplifying the voices and ideas of housing innovators from all over the U.S., making sure their incredible work gets the recognition it deserves.
Indeed, last year we were privileged to join in on this crucial conversation. I had the honor of sharing a panel with one of America's leading housing researchers, Jenny Schuetz from the Brookings Institution. The exchange of ideas, coupled with the shared commitment to innovative housing solutions, left us inspired and eager for more. This year, we're excited to build on that momentum, strengthening old connections and forging new ones, all in pursuit of progress in our industry.
Meanwhile, amro nimri , a tenacious project manager recently joining us from Jordan, is doing his part by bringing these innovative concepts into reality through the Ivory Innovations Operating Foundation. Amro's making sure our theoretical solutions become concrete transformations with a pipeline of nearly 2000 units of affordable housing coming to Utah.
And let's not forget our friends back home. Blake Thomas and Salt Lake City are stepping up to the plate with an initial regulatory approach to modular housing. It's not a flawless system, but it's a step towards progress, and we're eager to learn from others to make it even better.
Speaking of modular homes, we're diving deep into this innovative construction method with our partners, the International Code Council , and MODx with. We're not just doing this for Utah - we're doing it because we believe modular housing represents the future of construction, and we want to share that vision with the world.
The best part? We're not doing this alone. Emma Hansen , our social media whizz at Ivory, will be keeping you in the loop every step of the way. She'll be blasting updates from both channels, so you won't miss a beat of our D.C. adventure.
So, from policy dialogues to industry showcases, stay tuned for our daily updates. We're excited to share this journey with you and can't wait to show you how every state, including our beloved Utah, is contributing to the evolution of housing.?
Here's to learning, innovating, and building a better future for housing, together! And thanks to Clark Ivory and Abby Ivory for their leadership and vision.
